Default Safe to link a stealth Paypal acount to Nationwide or Barclays?

Hi,

Can anyone tell me definately if it is safe to link a stealth UK Paypal account with a false name to a UK Barclays or Nationwide bank account in my own name?

Can Paypal check the name on the bank account?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers

Some post on this forum have stated that Nationwide is okay but not sure about Barclays.
Have you tried any and how did you get on?

Thats good to hear that Barclays is good to go. Seems there might be a slight element of luck involved in all this cos some people have stated Barclays as problematic

Could be that users had different problems that caused a PP account to to limited.

Sometimes when PP is limited a certain amount of intelligent "guess work" comes into play to try to ascertain the reasons why.

In my honest opinion users could be "assuming" that a problem is due to Barclays. The best advice is to always keep an open mind.

Always be objective with users opinions. Sometimes we can be convinced of a reason for something and that reason may not always be right.

Some people have reported on this forum that Lloyds is generally not cos cos names have to be identical. But then, they said same about Barclays SAW appears to have had success with Barclays eevn though names are different!!!
I think the more feedback we have, the more we can understand or decode this issue

the forum posts its individual experiences, so someone must have said that names dont match for Lloyds and that was reason I could get pp to link up with bank...other people have no probs with names. If you have an existing Lloyds account, give it a try, they can only reject it, then you will know.

Hi Vokonta, I have just checked. When I signed up I used the following name

"Discount Powerhouse"

I linked this to Lloyds which is in my real name.

The name Discount Powerhouse is made up.

No problems at all with Lloyds. I wonder if they scrutinise the names and normal persons names encounter problems whereas maybe they have to "assume" that I am using a business or trading name?

I dont know, but I can tell you it works. For now at least!

a company name is a good way to overcome the banks that forumers 'say' dont allow differing names........in my experience no probs with Lloyds or any of them for that matter, and I have pretty much the whole lot (yes Ive been busy), another theory is females get more leeway, in terms of their names differ, eg. maiden, especially if you use your own inital or first name.

Thanks for sharing. I also just succeeded with lloyds but names didnt differ much. Shuffled last letter on surname and changed first initial.

With rgds your 'Discount Powerhouse' account. Is this a personal or business paypal account? I have always opened personal accounts and havent really ventured into business accounts. Any benefits with this?
