Got an email asking me to check/change my phone number on my pp account as they have tried contacting me but couldnt get through so they presume the number is old etc...
I logged in, checked the number and its fine and works, via soho66.
A little worried now as to why they contacted me.

did they say that they tried to call you or to update your info?
Cause here in the USA they send the typical (please update your info) email, even though the phone number is valid. I know if pp cannot reach you over here, your account is limited until they speak to you.

ash, you are very lucky that PP didn't limit the account over the invalid phone number.
Like cj says, they usually limit the account if they can't get through to you. They did that to me once, even though my account was in great condition.
Not sure what they wanted to talk to you about. Could be a range of things, like to do with if you are selling a lot, or simply could have been a communication survey or something trivia...
i just last week got an account (uk account) for an invalid phone number, then they wanted ALL the docs and more, DL, gas bill, supplier invoices, proof of delivery, all for the sake of a fooking 99p sim card and 30 seconds to update :-( lesson learned
