Paypal require CC Statement - but I used Entro

Hi there

A few days back I satisfied the list of 8 requirements to remove a PP limitation by getting creative. All was okay

Today I tried a very small withdrawal and have been limited again and a new requirement is to provide a CC Statement. Problem is that I used Entropay.

What shall I do now I wonder??

You get creative with your statement. PM a moderator (purple name) if you need some help/direction.

Are they requesting a specific statement i.e. for the one registered on the account or any cc statement?

"To confirm you're the credit card owner, please send us a copy of your latest credit card statement that shows your name, address and complete credit card number."

I think this looks specific to the cc attached to my pp acct? Would you agree?

NoneOther 03-14-2012 12:04 PM

Would seem that way.

Be careful if you get creative with this statement. p/p know who all the card issuers are from the card numbers.

Very tricky one.

Begs the question why they want to see it, what has happened on the card recently that would make them curious/suspicious?

Hi there

Nothing at all. It's a new(ish) account with no limits at all.

I would pay handsomely for an indestructible Paypal!!!

Callidus 03-14-2012 12:09 PM

Im afraid that if you provide them with this card number that you got from entro pay you will have a problem as NoneOther said I think he is right they cant tell from a certain layout of numbers who the issuer is.

oompaloompa 03-14-2012 12:12 PM

you need to provide print off of the entro statement, couple of pages.

bicawi 03-14-2012 12:21 PM

thanks oompa - I originally named this cc something like "card no21" , so this won't help if I send them that statement. I presume I can change the name of the existing account from this to the person's name? Also, there are no transactions at all to show on the statement other than the £2.50 I started with and the £1 pp deducted last week.

I think the problem with that is that e/p statements do not show name, address or card number unless I'm mistaken.

bicawi 03-14-2012 12:23 PM

Yes you are correct as I have just printed it and it shows nothing apart from balance and recent activity. No names, addresses etc.

grrr it shows nothing at all of use on the printed entro statement

NoneOther 03-14-2012 12:26 PM

As I said, a very tricky one as p/p will know for sure that entropay don't issue 'standard' statements.

Perhaps someone of greater understanding (mod) may be able to help.

would be interested to know the outcome if there is a solution.

GrannyT 03-14-2012 01:55 PM

The problem you have is the lack of activity on the statement rather than it just being Entropay - they know what Entropay is and they know what it is used for.

Can't see any way round it myself

:ranger:

rsot 03-14-2012 02:54 PM

Again - might need more creativity.

meVebay 03-14-2012 02:59 PM

Going back a couple of years, I sent in a capital one statement when pp wanted a credit card statement. I using entropay tho!

Not sure I'd want to do that again nowadays, things have got more difficult in my opinion.

Wouldn't send in a entropay statement though. More chance of success sending something than nothing!

Ebayorbust 03-14-2012 03:31 PM

I'd personally try another credit card statement with the entropay card number on it.

If you do nothing the account is toast. Sending the above in - you've got a chance.

There are loads of idiots that work in Paypal so your chances of getting one reviewing your limitation is fairly good.

I know they know what card numbers are what etc but IMO it's your best chance.

NoneOther 03-14-2012 04:00 PM

Instant permanent limitation.

They know who the card issuers are send a statement from one with anothers card number and it's dead right away.

Personally I would be tempted to add another prepaid and remove the e/p one, nothing to lose but a positive move. The only risk is burning a prepaid on p/p but it can always be used anywhere else.

Ebayorbust 03-14-2012 05:05 PM

I know they know the card numbers (posted as such). The OP's only real chance of success is to get a numpty to deal with the review.

Given they're asking for a statement of the card registered on pp, you're suggested course of action isn't much better. :p

Wouldn't surprise me if the rep could only see the last 4 digits on the system anyway. Anyone care to test it out?

Pretty sure they can see the whole number hence the reason for the statement, so they can check.

bicawi 03-14-2012 05:53 PM

Thanks all. I need to do something so will have a think and let you know the outcome. Thanks again
