Default Your bank told us.....

Hi Guys,

I have added my HSBC saving account to one of the stealth's (Paypal) and it wet through ok initially I got 4 digits code and verified my bank account on Paypal, a week later I received an email from Paypal saying the following ' Your bank informed us that you cannot use your account ending so and so to fund your Paypal funds'. I am just wondering what does it mean? Does it mean I will not be able to withdraw the money to this account? I checked my Paypal and they have not removed this account, it is still there, but I am wondering if I try to withdraw the money in the future will it bounce back to my Paypal account. Would appreciate your comments. many thanks in advance.

I have used HSBC for UK operations - I prefer the current accounts. I probably have used the savings account once or twice but I have not noticed a problem. I made sure that direct deposit was active

Why don't you call your bank and ask about it? We don't work for HSBC here.

Savings accounts do not support a dd mandate. The bank rejected the dd when it was sent in. Paypal is informing the OP the account cannot be used as a funding source (as there is no dd mandate in place). The account is still fine for withdrawing to.

Paypal tend not to remove bank accounts any more when the dd mandate bounces.

Why don't you pass by the question if you don't have an answer?

If your reading inference skills is any better, you'd know that I was merely making a suggestion on what you should be doing. Banks known about their own system better than what the members of this forum can speculate, and you'd get a much faster and accurate answer that way.
