I understand that you rely on stealth to run your business but it's going to happen and you're part of the minority that isn't happy with it.

I have absolutely no issue with it. MP works fine when you understand it.

The only point I’m making is that actual real eBay users with real accounts still do have a problem with managed payment not just stealth account users. I really don’t understand which part of that you’re struggling with so much?

Your facts are not true at this point because I got a eBay business account and that’s my personal account and I’m in the stealth team.

aspkin shows that there are like 100 people on this forum right now. Do you honestly think there are 100 people on this forum at this moment? Is this any different than eBay?

And this is the reason why I don't even really participate in the conversation here. A waste of my time trying to help. Enjoy your time.

OK... but what does that have to do with it?

Anyways, it hasn't happened yet so make as much money as you can stealthers; then I wish you all the best of luck in your new venture. There's still plenty of time

and MP is a big profit center for them...

"We have already seen incredible momentum with managed payments, and we expect it to deliver $2 billion in revenue and $500 million of operating income in 2022.”

There's no reason for Ebay to change their plan. Sellers have to accept that.

Also from that article if you guys want to pick and choose!

Baird analyst Colin Sebastian wrote in a recent note to clients that eBay has “clear upside potential” if it completes a rapid rollout of managed payments, though he expects the company to be “prudently cautious” heading into the holiday shopping season.

DON'T sign up for managed payment

I agree make as much as you can from the stealth and hope for the best. Although I can guarantee you this. The only thing ebay will be loyal to is their shareholders. So if they start rolling out this and causes company shares to lose value due to poor revenue growth. Guess what? The current CEO of eBay will be replaced again for the million time.

eBay should of gave the option of Ayden and PayPal of their roll out and concentrated on bring more niche markets online as oppose to concentrate on whole different beast like a payment system.

The reason ebay makes $$$, are sellers come onto market to offer different products and niches. Buyers want choice. If sellers start exiting in masses. There is really no point using eBay anymore. Deciding between a red apple or dark red apple isn’t much of choice. Buyers want to save and get so called a deal if items are widely available in other market places. But niche markets are whole different story. This where ebay should been putting their efforts in and capitalizing on. Also making a fair playing field for all sellers, not just the ones in CHINA which don’t pay taxes and have their government subsidize the shipping.

So if eBay want to get to the top, stop playing with payment systems which they have no experience on. Concentrate on standards consistency and execution. Developing niche markets on the site with rules that are balanced which works with both the buyer and seller. Stop changing rules like every business quarter or three months. Have ebay reps actually educated about the eBay policies and systems. The reason why we make stealth is ebay is like a lost emo teenager kid who has no direction. Make up policies and does policy change like drunken sailor.

Not a very good business model to tell people to NOT use your platform.

Lol.
This happened to me.
eBay rep told me same thing over the phone.

Long story, 8 years ago, I was pleading with eBay rep over the phone and she told me “why not list your stuff on amazon”’.
My account was axed due to DSL ratings or whatever they were called.
Had a string of bad bad bad luck with shipping and buyers.

Had another eBay rep told me, “why not just make another account”.

It’s like these eBay reps would rather you go somewhere else to sell your stuff, rather than them putting up with our bulls$$t for their $12 an hour over the phone.

Bottom line, I’ve learned eBay is just that... a Platform.
They make the rules.
They are your boss.
They can can you when ever they want.

I’m still making $ for them, with stealth accounts.
They get their 10% plus.

Yeah all of my accounts require me to switch to MP. I haven’t done so yet. Instead what I am going to do is create new accounts under the same name, address etc. I already created one today but it got suspended. I will be contacting eBay tomorrow to try and reinstate it.

Do you have any clue why it was suspended?

I still haven't signed up, and they haven't stopped me from listing. I think that they are actually going to wait until the end of the year; I don't think alot of good sellers have signed up.

Re: DON'T sign up for managed payment

Here in the UK I have one account that had the notification to sign up to MP by the middle of July saying they would restrict me from adding more listings id I hadn't. That date passed and I was still able to list. But after a couple of weeks, that was it. I registered for MP and as soon as I had uploaded the bank statement was able to list again. I am now waiting for the go live date for MP on that account. This is a stealth account.

I wouldn't expect it to be much different for you guys.

There is probably a number they set at eBay for MP signup. I just had two of my accounts restricted until I sign up for MP. One is in progress. Going to finish one of them but waiting for a letter to show them.
