Default ebay favored the buyer once again...

After receiving the item, the buyer left me a negative feedback right away and requested for a return. His reasons were the item was not he was expecting and it is phake, note that the item was BRAND NEW with detailed photos and clear description, I also included the original purchase receipt. Ebay still required that I pay for the return shipping and they can't remove the feedback, even though the representative in the "APPEAL Department" that I spoke to had reviewed the case and agreed that I have provided sufficient evidence...all they asked for me to do right now is wait it out and make sure I receive the correct item...

Buyer could order a dog turd from you and file a case saying that it didn't smell like a dog turd should smell. Ebay will refund them. No questions asked. Seller will always lose on a Not As Described case.

This will be the day. It would make sense for them to have some type of process where if a buyer returns the item, the seller can appeal it someway either uploading a picture or video, or something, if the seller is getting ripped off, but this would make too much sense to do

Cant count how many times i got an empty box in return, so the buyer keeps the product and gets their money back, because all the buyer needs to do is provide ebay a tracking number and send you back an empty box

agreed, because if you can tell the customer is going to stiff you, it's time to shut down your bank account, before paypal stiffs you.

its also the fact that if you put all effort in 1 account and it gets shut down randomly by ebay paypal can hold all your money for 180 days........if your business is living off of loans or credit cards that just huge amounts of interest being charged against you for not paying off debt because of the 180 day hold on your money.

but if you have 10+ accounts with 500 bucks balance in each and 1 gets held up for 180 days thats only 500 bucks......not a big deal.

Why would you have $5000 help up in accounts anyways?

i think you misunderstood my post,

10 ebay accounts with small limits on each account means that if one gets shut down for whatever reason your risk is much lower.

versus someone with 1 ebay account that might have lets say 8000 dollars in the balance can automatically be withheld by paypal for 180 days if ebay decided to shut your account one morning you woke up

I would never have an 8000 balance in Paypal, let alone 800. I clear them out same day I receive payment most of the time. Whoever keeps an 8000 balance in Paypal is asking for trouble and needs to rethink things.

I understood your post. You were talking about having 10 accounts with $500 in each. Which is $5000 being held in paypal. There is no reason for that. And there is MUCH less reason to have $8000 in a paypal account. I keep money in my one main account, and that's only because I like to use the debit card and get cash back. But even that's risky to do. 10 accounts with that much money in them? Bad stealth practices.

You're giving suggestions on how to reduce risk, based on taking already uneeded risk. Get rid of the original risk, and you won't need to reduce your risk.

no if you have 10 ebay accounts and 1 goes down. then you probably will have 500 bucks withheld only.

their is no 5k figure that will be lost assuming your stealthing properly you shouldn't lose all 10 ebay accounts in 1 hit.

" held in paypal" is not the same term as " withheld by paypal". There should NOT be $5000 in the accounts, PERIOD. You won't lose $500, because you wouldn't have the $500 to lose.
