Fan pressure was the only reason they matched the offer. I will definitely miss him. But if the Sox want to pay him then great for him, he even said he wanted the challenge of a change of scenery.

NFL is big throughout - in general, still bigger than CFL across the land.

MLB is big in Toronto of course - out west, not so much due to lack of MLB teams - Quebec is so so due to loss of Expos - it isn't big. Farther east...there aren't teams of any major league sport so hockey is still the norm.

I cant believe the Cards are 22 and 7 and im shocked to see the Royals at 19 and 11 with Shields, Butler, Aoki, Ibanez, and Willingham all GONE!

I sure wish David Glass would sell the Royals to someone who cares. He's one of the wealthiest franchise owners in the world but he spends the least amount of money on his team.

Lol I guess you could say that. I sure wish he would have retained all of the great players over the years.

With the AL Central heating up now they really need all the players that were lost just last year alone.

Especially 6-0 Big Game James and Nori Aoki.

I can definatly see why Shields would be gone making 20 million a year but with Nori Aoki that was very idiotic he is a very underpaid and underrated player. Currently 9th overall in hits right now and a quick outfielder and speedy base runner. The Giants definatly got a diamond in the rough signing him.

I'm surprised they came out of the closet and won that many in a row they needed it badly to get back in the hunt in the East.

Did anyone see that spectacular unbelievable no look Willie Mays style catch by Jarrod Dyson the other day against the Rays?

That catch was so impractical that you couldn't have choreographed it if it was in a movie that catch will always be in highlight reels.

Here is that stunner double play catch by Dyson that filled in for Platinum Glove Alex Gordon

I cant wait to see the All Star game tonight.

The Royals have tied the second highest record of 7 from the 1957 Cincinnati Reds for the most players from 1 team playing in the All Star game.

5 were elected and 2 were chosen.

The American League is lucky because they have a ROYAL FLUSH!

Although it saddens me that Alex Gordon won't be able to play because of injury.

The record of 10 All Star players from the 1939 Yankees im sure will never be broke or probably even tied.

What did you think of the All-Star game?

1939 was a different time indeed.

Average game nothing too exciting. Hoping my Giants can get it together in the second half and let go of this every other year thing! Lol. To be honest wining the world series every other year 3 times after 50+ years is completely awesome. But once you get a whiff of that success you think you team should be able to repeat.

My second half wish is the Giants get a top notch closer and trade for Michael Moorse to get the band back together!!!!!!!!!
