Google is known to do AVS verification checks on cards used for their services. If you use a simons gift card chances are it will not pass a the AVS check which will cause Google to request addition verification information from you.

This has absolutely nothing to do with what credit card you used to sign up. Google is just getting a bit tighter and using different levels of verification for account holders.

After sending an ebay winner any GC invoice for payment 3 days after the initiated payout.. my gc account ...suspended, a refund was given to the buyer w/o any notification to me or my authorization and NO $ deposited in my bank account. Wen i logged into my gc account to check the status of the payout there was a message saying they couldnt process my card i used to create the acct with which was a prepaid debit card. They requested a copy of my DL and Proof of address. I sent it. Google emailed me back saying they will not reinstate my account. should i create another gc account wit my real info and ssn again , new credit card and bank info ? any 1 have this problem before or know how to fix it im

I signed up with GCO a while back using my real name and address. Bad Idea. There is an option when signing up with GCO to display my business name so that it appears on the customers credit card statement, I thought by doing this, my real name/address would not be displayed for them to see. Earlier today, I clicked on one of the invoice links I sent to one of my customers and went through the process as if I was buying the item myself and I was flabbergasted when I saw my real name and address show up on the checkout page. I wish there was a way to prevent my real name from showing up on that checkout page. I’m bummed. |

On the other hand, Google is moving towards verification of social security # and running credit. So giving phony information will get you banned from them on down the line. What people fail to realize is that PayPal and Google Checkout are credit card processors, and all credit card processors require some sort of verification in order to issue the privilege of their services. Most all credit card processors require good credit in order to open an account.

I don't get it, why would anyone want to reference eBay when preparing invoices using their GoogleCheckout? How does Google know the transactions are eBay related? I just type in a description of the item and never reference eBay and send the invocie off to my customer. If Google ever asks me if my sales are eBay related I will just tell them no and make em look at my eCrater store website. |

Actually, i confirmed another method to open numerous google accounts since then, so i havent pursued the reinstatement of my suspended acct. Maybe Google doesnt like my IP or real name?

I received a request from Google asking to update my "Public business URL" field, otherwise they may close my account. What should I put there? I only sold a couple of items on ebay. Should I enter my ebay id? I don't have any "store" or my own website. |

Hi everyone, I'm a newbie here but thought I might share my experience with GCO. I've been using GCO for over a year with no problems until now. A few months ago, my ebay account was "suspended"/registration "on hold" because paypal wanted me to go through the SSN verification and my ebay account was suspended until this was resolved. This paypal verification wasn't prompted by disputes or anything, and from what I have read, it seems to be procedural. I was using GCO to process my orders, but after Google canceled one transaction which they marked it as a "high risk order," I used paypal for one item (about $700). After I processed that payment and withdrew funds (in retrospect, v stupid, I know), I got the limitation email, and not long after that- the suspension email- and MOST INTERESTING- not long after THAT- I got a request from Google for further verification before they could process any more pay outs. Coincidence? Not sure, but it definitely seemed fishy. Also interesting, at that point, I had not listed a website where I sell my items, so the only way GCO could have known about my suspension was by filtering it from my Gmail account. I faxed in all the info to paypal, got reinstated, was selling fine for the next few months. I recently got suspended (faxed in my docs and waiting for reply) for selling VERO items, which are AUTHENTIC (I work for this company). I faxed in a notarized statement from a VP in our legal department verifying that my items in question are authentic, and ebay still won't remove my vero "strike", claiming that even though my item may be authentic, it contained "indicators often linked to fraudulent listings" and they won't tell me what "idicators" they were- WHATEVER, good thing I have 6 back up accounts, thanks to this site. Oh well, waiting for the reinstatement decision. ANYWAY, sorry to make this so long, just want to be thorough- the day after I got suspended, I tried to log on to GCO to process an order from another ebay account and found a msg that my "merchant account is closed"- no email or notice from Google. I wrote to inquire, and they only said I "didn't follow terms of service" and my account would not be reactivated- I have never had a dispute or successful chargeback on my GCO account! The only reason they closed my account is because my ebay was suspended! I think the good old days of the separation of Google and ebay are quickly coming to an end. I have several good, verified paypal accounts, but don't want to use them at any cost. My question is- what is the next best thing to Google checkout, preferably one that doesn't require you to use your ssn? I have registered for ccnow, but need something else to use during the 45 day "holding period" I've heard bidpay has a $1500/month limit? That wouldn't work for me. What about auctioncheckout? THANKS for reading, this site is awesome! |
