What do you guys think of Ebid.net
Ive been following it recently, and the size is growing rapidly, on a daily basis, ( can see the amount of auctions listed)
Seems a good up and coming place

Theuk one has grown like in 1 million active auctions at one time in the past few months, it's now at 4 million so it shows the scale of growth

you know it's been trying to compete with ebay for years, i've had an account there for 3 years now, i won't put it down completly because i have sold items there, but the traffic is horrible, i honestly thinks theres more sellers than buyers on it.
A give way sign that its pretty much dead is the lifetime offer which is on the home page, offering a sort off package for life, who would offer a package for life? they know their growth won't improve dramatically, and the offer it's self seems to be cheaper than it was 3 years ago aswell? should it not be more? says alot.

To give you an idea how bad ebid UK is, I have an eBay account that sells an average of 20 items per day. The exact same listings on ebid have generated a grand total of 1 sale in that last two months.

Traffic is the problem with all of these websites. The fact is, eBay and Amazon have the traffic. Other sites do not, at least not at this time. End of story.

Of course none of these websites have the traffic that eBay or Amazon does, but combined they can still be a good source of income. If you list only on eBay and sell 20 per month, or list on eBay, Bonanza, Etsy, Ebid, Ubid, Artfire, iOffer, Blujay, etc. and make 40 sales per month, that's a difference.

i dont' think it matters if traffic is slow or not, what matters is selling in other venues in addition to ebay/amazon. you should be able to see increase in TOTAL sales if you would sell also on different sites. no need to bag on the slower, less traffic sites. if you just make 1 sale on it, your making money.

I've only had 1 sale total in 2 years. I've searched for every item I sell and only found 1 total of 15. I don't think I will keep ebid in my rotation.

eBid's traffic is so low, and the sales so bad, it will take a couple years at least for me to make back my Seller+ lifetime fee of $50.
But as someone else said, don't depend on just one site. Work with several and you can get a decent total income.

LOL yeah something like that.
The kicker is I really like the site. The functionality is great and the customer support real nice and quick.
The sellers on the forums there are really nice too. But then, looking at it another way, when you have a community of sellers who have the time to chit chat with each other daily, and know each other so well, surely there is a problem!
