Default £20,000 Paypal Limit

Hi

My account was limited 7 days ago because there was a hike in sales etc and when paypal called I missed the call.

I had to provide details of projections, business model, supplier details, invoices, tracking etc. I provided everything asked and the account was restored the next day.

My question is: I have just went over 20k in sales tonight, do you think I will still get this limit applied even though its only 7 days since I was last limited?

I have went through this many times before with various stealth accs and I know the 20k limit is the last one. Then, you are normally left alone provided you don't do anything stupid.

Thanks in advance for your opinions.

I've never experienced this £20000 limit on any account. Over the years I've probably had about half a dozen stealth accounts pass that kind of money without limitation.

Whilst your experience is different to mine, where are you reading that such a "limit" exists? Could it not just be coincidence that your accounts have been limited around this figure?

The accounts that I passed this amount on without limitation, the money was taken over a period of time (over a couple of years on most of them).

As for your question, I would be surprised if you get limited again so quickly.

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, I have had this before, maybe 6 or 7 times. each of these accounts sold the 20k in a short space of time, i.e. 6 months or less.

On one occasion, I spoke to Paypal on the phone and they explained that this is the last "limit" where you have to provide a, b & c and once you pass this there are no other possible restrictions provided the account is managed well.

I am hoping that you are right in your opinion, thats what I was thinking myself.

Cheers

Once you hit near £20,000 you need to send pp big paperwork and stuff so good luck with that on a stealth account.

Anyone who says the got past that £20,000 on a stealth account (UK) and paypal now have no restrictions for them is in cuckooo land man or they are super amazing and have top paperwork.... I go for the cuckoo land

...members with some experience might disagree with that criticism! I personally have seen several stealth account pass that margin without asking for any FURTHER INFORMATION other than what is required to lift EU receiving limit. I think it really depends how the account is managed from the beginning, start slow and gradually increase sales causes no hassle! "cuckoo land is for newbies"

I have gone past £20k quite a few times without having any other paperwork requested. I don't ever hit £20k within 6 months on a new account though, rarely even within 12 months. Nearly every account that has gone over the £20k mark is over 12 months old.

i have to agree, i have never been asked for docs when hitting the £20k mark, 2 of my paypals are already way over this and all i had was the EU limit request.

Must be down to what you sell, and how fast you selling it.

Default Re: £20,000 Paypal Limit

I regularly hit £20k on my PayPal accounts within the first year, and all I need to deal with are EU limits.

I also stay well below the VAT threshold each year as I know you get a call from PayPal to discuss your business practices etc. if you start taking in that sort of money on a paypal account.

So aside from those two, I've not come across any other limits. I can only presume the velocity at which you are accumulating the £20k has a lot to do with your limitation, and perhaps the activity on your account causing some form of suspicion.

OP - If you tell us more about what category you sell, how your withdrawing your funds, how quickly your doing things, I think we can easily pinpoint what's causing it.

I hit 20K+ in under four months normally on every account, never been asked for any further documentation..

Selling VERO by any chance?

Thanks for your reply but If you read my earlier post, I HAVE DONE THIS MANY TIMES BEFORE. I was just looking for some sensible feedback.

Any account that I operate that passes 20k is always at least 2 years old.

The items I sell are in the business, office, industrial category and are certainly NOT VERO.

It is more than likely the speed at which I am able to sell large volume successfully that may be my problem.

For your information I have a few stealths that I consistently sell over 100k per month. I'm not an idiot nor am I a complete beginner to stealth but I do value feedback from the many experienced, helpful and very courteous members of this forum.

Hi James

Thanks again for your reply.

The account in question is over 2 years old but I have sold 20k within the last 6 months.

I did manage to get the limit lifted, so all is good.

As always, I do appreciate your feedback.

Cheers

Hi Bunneh

Thanks for your reply.

As I said to James, the limits have been lifted so all is good.

I only ever sell products from a single category which are certainly not vero or could be considered high risk.

Thanks again

I just got the same issue but only when I hit £10,000 in sales.

Here is my thread regarding the issue:
