My first negative feedback...

Long story short - I got a first neg on my 2.5-month old account. I am under a solid suspicion, the a-hole buyer deliberately made a purchase to leave me a neg. Try to prove me wrong:
  • On Feb. 3 at 1am EST I receive an Amaz0n "Sold, ship now" notification.
  • 2 hours after "Sold ship now" I recieve his request to cancel the order.
  • Another 4 hours after his first cancellation request I am getting the second request with buyer declaring that shipment is too late and demanding to cancel an order. To recap: 1am - An order placed; 3am - request to cancel; 8am the shipment is late
  • I am cancelling his order at 5pm the same day when I get home from work
  • 3 days after the cancellation I receive an angry email demanding the refund since the order was cancelled. The same second I've been getting the feedback stating "Shipment is late" (the same shipping you requested to cancel???)

Contacting Amaz0n is of no use (surprise). The Seller support rep. immediately sided with the customer saying he was right to say the shipment is late since I still haven't shipped (without even looking that the order was cancelled).

When email comes in from Amaz0n Seller Support asking whether they helped me with my situation, I Choose No and trying to explain that the order was cancelled, the buyer was upset that they haven't got their refund and since I never had access to his payment in the first place (Amaz0n's Ship When Confirm), it's Amaz0n who maybe at fault since they were holding his money.

A polite response follows saying they reviewed my situation, and agreed that there is no fault of mine, but since this a-hole wrote "Shipment is late" they can't remove it since it doesn't fall into any of their "removal" categories.

Good story there - interesting post. More interesting is the fact that Am az on sided with you (as is proper) - "kudos".

Amazon doesn't really have any "removal" categories. I have never heard of a feedback getting removed on Amazon. Love to hear a story of it actually happening.

I've had a negative removed that was a product review.

Honestly, at this point, if you really value the account (2.5 months doesn't sound like a lot of work put in), consider having an attorney write a letter to this douche, threatening legal action for defamation of character/lost income/etc. What have you got to lose? I know a lot of people on this forum will disagree with my advice, but it's actually worked several times for me, in the past.

Actually this sounds interesting. And I happen to have an attorney friend too:cheer:

As for work put in - I am not into multiple accounts. I was more into keeping this account growing into the real business. And yes, I did have a lot of work put in for this time trying to play fair (as I always have), but Amaz0n never rewards fair players anyway...

Indeed Amaz0n have multiple reasons for feedback removed: http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=1161284&#remove

Same here. That's why I go the extra step to keep my feedback pristine. It takes a lot of time and money to be approved in my categories, and I don't like throwing that away because some sociopath decided that leaving me a neg would make his day.

sleepybubba 02-16-2012 07:42 AM

Amaz0n Seller F0rums suggest I write to jeff@amaz0n.com. Not sure if I want to expose my account this much...

GreenBean 02-16-2012 07:54 AM

Cant have it both ways.

ovidu's advice may be more effective.

Keep in the back of your mind buyer may still make trouble.

rsot 02-16-2012 12:46 PM

Yes - that's why you need volume - 100 good buyers to make up for the loser buyers.

sleepybubba 02-17-2012 10:14 AM

This I know. Need to stop being lazy and start begging for feedback. My sales really plunged due to this one neg.
