AV LIMITED, PLEASE DON'T TAKE THIS THE WRONG WAY,but you are always opening new accounts. Perhaps if you concentrated on the ones you had and not keep getting suspended you would be in a happier position.

Roberto does raise a good point though.

You say you are opening 5 accounts a day. Is that every day? That is a lot of accounts. Quantity is not always better than quality.

I have not got this issue but wondering if anyone else did. Because gollin is mentioning he has got issue. but he only made 1 post, and am not sure if gollin and a.v limtied is same person

Never heard of this 'UTR', Limited companies have a registration number, vat number for sole and Ltd companies and a EORI number for importing.

if sole trader you need to register online, self assessment, and they post a code to you

10 digit

I think you may want to work out why you need so many Amazon accounts. Yes stealth is about having back up account, but creating 5 Amazon accounts a day IMO seems OTT

Sole traders get them for completing their self assessment forms.

As a general rule you only get 1

Best to ask HMRC themselves if anyone else has access to the UTR as I am not an authority on taxes Im afraid.

MICKY H is referring to the UTR number itself and whether it is searchable as info such as company directors or Ltd Compies numbers would be in the UK

If you are really opening 5 new bank accounts a day in the UK you are going to run into problems pretty fast.

Update: I made another account today on amazon.

Used uk address.

Still they did not ask for passport at start or UTR numbers.

So now I can 100% confirm this issue is one that only a.v. limtied has faced, 99.9% of people probably wont face this. So no need to worry.

I also doubt a.v. limited intentially wanted to do some fear mognering. So we should all act in good faith. This thread can be closed now before it scares more people.

My guess would be is that you have some idiotic plan to try and sell these accounts, either here or elsewhere. This would also explain the recent posting activity.

If this is your plan, take some advice and STOP posting. Account sellers need to have some credibility and actually know what they are talking about. The little credibility you had was flushed down the toilet about 100 posts ago.

Im sure that how they differ is usa requires your SSN number to find you. Uk does not

UPDATE : I don't understand why but todays account creation on uk amazon occurred without any issues

I doubt it's a glitch. That makes no sense.

It's either amazon are on to you and these new accounts or it could be amazon are testing this out on small numbers of people before a decision on rolling it out is made. I hope it's the first one but people should not be scared to post things that could be of use.

I'm not sure what av has done in the past but there has been some borderline bullying going on. This could have been a major issue. it looks like it wasn't but peoples reaction to this post is more likely to stop others posting in the future. Like I said, I'm not sure what av has done but there have been some pretty shameful replies in my opinion.

The bottom line is that this is not a reoccurring issue and now everything works great.
Lets thank a.v.limited and people for the info and confirming that everything is back to normal.
Mods please close this trade that people like me won't have to go through 5 pages of read :)

It's a reference number everyone has as a taxpayer - not businesses (though I guess they have an equivalent).

I hate HMRC, and pretty much all tax offices. When I started selling here in Japan, I was told as I didn't sell domestically and my money went out of country, I couldn't declare it in Japan - they'd only tax when I brought into the country (either via paypay-UK to paypal-JP transfer or International remittance). So I called the UK, who told me that I couldn't register as a sole trader as I didn't have a active address in the UK I can use despite my income arising in a UK paypal account. I was advised, by the HMRC help line, to just declare it as 'other'. I've been doing self assessment for about 4 years now declaring it, even though it's well below a taxable threshold and I have no other UK income.

Whats new, it has always asked for Limited Company number for a Limited Company. Where is it requesting your passport?????? UTR?????

if you change business type to private seller / individual then to verify yourself they want driving licence or passport

if you change to sole trader the request for UTR appears

if you hover over the ? on the webpage
