Amazon is asking UTR number and passport
 

Made new account today. They asked for UTR number or passport . When I got to upload documents they ask for 2 documents: utility bill and government id (passport or drivers license e.t.c)!

After account was created

They also require micro deposit to verify bank like paypal.

I made 2 accounts on both they asked. All with different info, ip, pc e.t.c

a.v limtied was right

p.s They also ask it on amazon spain.

I think you was saying something about differences between opening a business account and a personal account. What type of an account did you open?

this is for uk, a new thing they are rolling out, spoke to a rep today, there is a way around it but still working on it

they ask for a uk tax number

Are these Personal or Business account?

When you say they are asking for passport, is it a scan of the passport or the passport number itself?

i made private account.

they wanted passport number + scan

and they wanted bank to verify micro deposits like paypal !!!

I just made an account right now. A private account.

Asking me a passport info. Have not put in anything yet.

Amazon......Now, whole different thing now!!

Experts will find a way around but it's too early coz it's just started.

They've rolled it out at the same time as the Prime Unlimited streaming, lots of changes in one go.

spoke to amazon. they told me this is something new that all new sellers must go through. no one can sell on amazon until they verify account

There is a way around PayPal. Just wondering if there is a way around this verification ie, the docs. If they really would check it

All people don't have passport so they must be accepting any other proof of ID like driving licence. Have you asked them about that Roberto?

driving licence is accepted

that is for a personal account

for a business account you need a UTR number

I was just about to bring up the same thing, not everyone has a passport....

If they are doing this in the UK, expect Amazon US to do something similar soon.

I think it is more common for Europeans to have passports than Americans. Many Americans never leave America and thus never even apply for a passport. Also, a passport here costs like $300. But they may start asking for driver's licenses.

In the US, some states sell their driver's license databases and some do not. So, that would be a starting point for those of us in the USA.

I think my next question would be, does the UK give driver's license data to private companies? Are there other countries nearby that don't?

Yes they do. Generally it is to gambling companies to verify that someone is over the age of 18.

htz, this is for amazon UK.

Methods of creating accounts have changed recently.

Users are finding out workarounds.

They exist.

Made a test account with the new system, all stealth details, selected the option to provide driving licence, ticked the option to provide utility bill upon request and added a bank. After a few hours the window at the top that said pending verification disappeared and I was able list an item which sold sucessfully. Just waiting for the microdeposits now. Will update you all with the account status in a few days.

Please beware when you wants your funds amazon with require the id, I already done this.

About 1 week but they deleted I asked them when wil I get my funds..

Also repeat bank was used for micro deposit..

Why on earth did you reuse a bank account?

Here We Go Again advised a long time ago that bank account reuse with amazon failed.

Since amazon are verifying accounts with the micro deposits it is better to have a fresh bank account.

I have tried to create Amazon DE/UK accounts using personal info (name variation + corresponding bank account) and using US LLC in the past week, and both have gotten requests for passport + utility bill info.

They accept UK driver's license, any valid passport, or other major European travel documents (in Germany it's called Ausweis).

If anyone could figure out the ID verification part of the process I would appreciate very much hearing about it.

yes you are right, I never had any issues with repeat bansk though..

oh well its gone..??? so what can I do..
