Default Does Amazon suspend accounts for past infringements?

Have you ever witnessed a case where Amazon suspended an account for selling counterfeit items in the past? In other words, would Amazon ban your account now because you sold ⊗⊗⊗⊗ items a year ago even though these listings have already been ended months ago as well?

Yes, just because the SKU has gone the ASIN hasn't.

I sold counterfeit belts about 8 years ago. Deleted the listings/sku's about four years ago.

About 6 months ago I got a raft of authenticity issues for these belts and the account was suspended. Either the rights holder did a deep search on the ASIN database or someone added stock to the ASIN and made it easily visible again for the rights holder, bots, or a competitor. I guess I'll never know.

But will Amazon do this deep search itself or just wait for a rights holder to do it?

I don't know but we have to assume Amazon are doing deep searches given they now hit us with 'suspected intellectual property violations' as well as 'received intellectual property complaints'.

If it's a year ago, and you haven't done anything like that with the account since, plus you're building the acc with legitimate items, No.

It takes 6 months for infractions to clear, if nothing happens within that period, then most likely you're clear.
