Creating a new ASIN / Product

SO before doing brand registry, I need to create a new product (ASIN) it seems. Doing this seems to want me to create various photos of the product in question. Including labels.

I dont have labels on the outer box. Just my own sticker on the product itself.

Would this be acceptable, does anyone know?

You'd need those bar codes on the product packaging for their bots to identify them when they ship.

so you have a patent from USPTO already?

I have nothing, its just a generic product and unbranded...

Theres others selling the same product but, they've branded it in their own company name. So, theres around 10 sellers, all using different brand names.

So I want to do the same but, in my own brand name.

You don't need a patent, only a trademark.

Brand Registered sellers can apply for GTIN exemption.

Unless they're planning on doing FBA Amazon will never need to see a barcode attached to the goods. Even then, it would be an FNSKU not necessarily one applied by the manufacturer. I sell wheres where I cover the applied barcode with my own FNSKU label. Some FBA sellers do use the manufacturer applied barcode for mainstream wares, like, say a DeWalt drill, but private label sellers like OP never will.

With Amazon, do it once, do it right.

Create your account, get a trademark, apply for Brand Registry and then GTIN exemption if you don't want to buy barcodes from GS1.

Anything you create now will be potentially outside your Brand Registered wares, anyone could list on them if you fail to retrospectively apply your brand.

Stickers on goods are known to be an issue, they want to see the brand applied to the goods. Amazon can be a real pain on this, clearly if your selling tiny items this isn't going to happen so make sure it is applied professionally enough to the packaging to pass scrutiny.

At the risk of repeating myself, take your time and get it right first time.

I've create an account, verified everything and up and running. However, you say apply for brand registry. Brand registry is requiring an ASIN.. you cannot avoid this to be able to proceed.

I then go to create an ASIN. And this is where im stuck as its asking for pictures..etc.

P.S i have the trademark already

To start no, i plan to sell a few to get some reviews sorted before shipping to amazon FBA. But yes, thats definitely the end goal.

Supply the pictures you want them to use on the ASIN, the benefit of ensuring you supply at least one with your trademark on is that it makes it much easier for them to remove piggybackers and defend your trademark and listing.

Forget barcode images, I've never supplied one.

On the short video guide on uploading pics, they are asking for pictures of the packaging, clearly displaying the manufacturers address.

Like many products, mine is a brown carton box. I can get a sticker made for it specifically for the verification pictures if needed. But they wont be sold like that.
