Things like DVD's and software should NOT be sold on a new account UNLESS they are titles that are not heavily counterfeited. VPN's should be avoided.

It is TRUE that Amazon "cleans house" each year just before the Christmas season. They have been doing this for a few years now - November and December are NOT the time to start new accounts. It is also true that Amazon is constantly adopting new methods to root out merchants they do not like. That is just how Amazon is.
I have started 4 new accounts since the New Year, and 3 of them are still up and running. The account that died was due to my own mistake. So, I tend to take what everyone says with a grain of salt.
