If its a cheap item then the refund without return was a good move. I do this for items $5 and under almost every time! Items up to $20 depending on the item I mostly just give the money back as if it really is defective I have no use for it and 99% of the time customers are not lying..... If you seem to get a lot of defect returns.... check your products it probably is YOU.....
The refund rate will not get you banned unless you get TONS of them. Do not worry at this stage. You did the right thing.

I just realized it was a GPS system. For that I would have authorized the return but probably offered to send him a prepaid return shipping label..... that always makes customers happy! and you would have gotten your high priced item back too |
