Default Tmobile Dongle Question

Can I get a Tmobile Dongle under my own name, or should the dongle be under a different name and address than my original amazon account information?

The only thing Amazon see's is your IP address associated with the dongle at the time of connection. They do not inquire as to who owns that device.

Second Amastealth, Amazon can only see IP address, cannot see ANYTHING else about the dongle. This is not public info even if they wanted to dig. Your registered phone number is another matter, however.

After 1 account of mine was canned via my 4g dongle, I turned around a couple months later and created a new account which connects solely through that same 4g dongle. 1 year in, no problemo. You can see that your IP changes every time you connect and you share in the pool of IPs within your city. In my opinion, it's one of the safest ways to connect, especially for the less tech-savvy.

Thanks everyone!

This statement kind of scares me.

1. Was your first account suspended because of the 4g dongle?

2. It exchanges IP's around the city with other tmobile dongle users? If someone else using a tmobile dongle in you city and has an Amazon account, wouldn't that create an issue?

3. Do other 4g dongles do this? att, verizon and such.

4. I have a Verizon cell phone already, I could add a dongle to my account, but I'm afraid it might swap my cell phone IP and my dongle IP. Am I being too paranoid?

The device itself doesn't create a suspension, It's the IP that is used on more than 1 account. So again, it's not the device it's the IP.

Also, IP alone is not enough to create a link....cookies, and other factors sometimes are what cause a link.

IP's alone don't usually cause a link if your using multiple IP's, as i explained above, IP alone is not enough to create a link, this is why keeping separate cookies is extremely important.

The major providers are running Dynamic IP Pools, so which ever one you go with will work....Also one thing to think about: Your location will determine how large the IP Pool is.

Yes, you could add a dongle, Mifi to your account, Never heard of IP's being swapped between your cellphone and Dongle......A bit paranoid...yes, but it's understandable.

Just make sure you log your IP's between switching accounts.

Thank you very much. Very helpful.

What exactly do you mean by this statement. Between switching what account?

I will be using 2 different computers, new computer is fully formatted.

Doesn't matter how many accounts your going to be using...IF you are going to use the same Dongle for both accounts you still should log IP's...unless you will be using separate internet connections.

I think he meant if you're using multiple accounts on the same dongle, you should consider not logging into both accounts while on the same temporary assigned IP address. Some people log their IP before signing in to Amazon to make sure they haven't used that IP before on a different account. I think it's over the top, but some do it..

edit: he answered as I was typing

Are you saying that its not necessary to log IPs and its safe to use the same dongle for two accounts so long as you disconnect before logging in to the next ?

Do you still need to log IPs if you are using two separate dongles on the same network for two different accounts ?
