Default Does having a long-time AMA buyers account give you a leg up?

I'm thinking about starting to sell on Amazon, something I've never done before... I was wondering if having a long-time buyers account gives you any leg up in terms of trust/limits when you start selling?

Raw stats: Account is over 13 years old and 700+ orders

Buyer accounts and their feedback don't give any benefits when it comes to creating a seller account. It is how we operate our seller accounts and deal with customer service issues that has the most impact.

Not a good idea, create another account. If you ever get locked out of one, you can still access the other.

It happens. Happened to me two times in the past year, my buyer account was locked while Amazon verifed some recent orders.

Had they been the same account, I would not have been able to log in and ship orders.

Some even recommend to keep them completely unlinked, because whenever you get the boot for good, both accounts will get booted.

Good buying accounts never get "the boot" if your seller account is suspended.

My advice turn your buyer account into your sellers accounts and go slow.

Yeah on second thought, I think I'll just go the stealth route, at least to start, while I learn how to sell on amazon.

And Mitsu, as you are learning you could lose both accounts and a stealth ID.

If you are selling legit stuff you will have no problems as long as you have the goods you want to sell in stock and ship in a timely manner.

Good idea. To avoid losing both accounts as some of the posters are saying just make sure you are using complete stealth method to open this seller account. Honestly, there is almost no reason why you should open a SA on a local machine. AMA is just too testy.
