I stumbled upon Harris Bank a USA bank that offers bank accounts to canadians as well. Best part is you can sign up online at Harris | Home

I signed up tonight everything went thru smoothly.

BMO acquired Harris sometime ago so they now operate like TD Banknorth, RBC Centura etc, canadians can get a U.S account without traveling south.

Opened up a chequing and savings account - I have to send in $100 USD to cover deposits in both accounts first - guess worth a shot. See how it goes. We will need info on how to register with paypal and withdrawinf I guess...

They called me - apparently they run a credit check on you too...just great. Anyhow I have to fax over ID.
