Default 1999 account found!

Did not know this until this evening, my mother in law and father in law both opened accounts in 1999. Hers was opened at their old house and his was opened at the new house they built so they have different addresses.

She used hers to buy a few items or so items and never used it again.

The FIL has 500+ feedback and he still uses the account.

The MIL said I can have her account as she does not need it.

The problem is she forgot the password and email account but knows the user name.

Anyway to get the password and use this account?

Congrats! I too found an old 2002 account back and manage to get the password changed.

Hear are the steps that I took to get to the area where you can change your password.

I logged in with my username and tried to enter different passwords that I may have used. After entering it wrong I think 5 or 6 times you will get to the screen to reset your password by answering 2 out of 4 questions : Date of Birth- Phone Number- Street Address- and Zip Code. If your MIL knows 2 of those info then you are set to go.
There is also another option if you don't know any of those. There is a option on that page to receive a automated call from ebay to the phone # registered on the account. You must have access to that phone #. They will only show you the last 4 digits to help you out before they call. They will call the same time when you click confirm and will give you a 4 digit pin to enter to reset your password.

I did all this without talking to anyone at Ebay. Everything was Automated.

NOTE": Very important to make sure you are not Linked when attempting this. Read the Stealth Ebook about being linked.

Hope this helps.

you still have to have access to the email account for this to work. I have one I can't get into because of lost password and email account.

No you dont if you still have access to the phone on the account. They will call you with a pin. Just found my first account from 2001 about a month ago.

Well I don't have access to the emails nor the phone numbers to these old accounts.

So there is no chance?

actually I just checked and it gave me the phone option but also gave me the option of putting in a different number than is on file. I need a fresh number before I can try it out but if it lets you add a number to get the pin then you could hijack pretty much any account you do business with because you'll have their phone number and street address. doesn't seem very secure.

The phone number has to already be on file. You cant add a new number until you get into the account.
