Red face Drop in Sales?

Hey Guys,

Just wonder if anyone's experienced this and if you had advice?

I've been doing roughly 40-50 Orders on a daily basis for the past 6 months. However as of late my sales dropped to literally 2-4 orders a day. I don't sell Vero items and my accounts are all up to date. Shipping on time, TRS up and etc. I noticed I was on the first page, but now I am not oddly enough.

Running: 4 accounts.

I noticed this too, esp. in the past couple weeks- overall sales in two categoies were off about 60-70% of normal.

I'm attributing this mainly due to season norms. Probably so many people are on vacation or out of town for the summer. I'm sure it will pick up again in the period before the holidays as usual.

Guess it depends on what market you're in. Mine has increased. But you might have A LOT of new competition.

Attempting to currently expand my market so I don't see down time like this anymore..or so I hope. Just found it odd as I do notice one of my account sales will drop while my other will rise, but this time around they've all dropped.

Appreciate the input though I guess I'll just need to spend some time doing research.

Welcome to the forum, Stephen.

Seems like you are doing the right things. Just to strengthen your knowledge and ability to operate your business better, I recommend giving stealth guide a read..

Specially since it seems you are doing well.

@92Stephen - keep in mind that it is summer so there might be people away from eb purchasing or away on vacation. Also worth checking out is that status of your COMPETITION....

Solar Eclipse has effected a lot of peoples sales in different ways. Some are up, some are down. , etc....
The same concept goes for late summer in general. Back to school, last vacations, trips to the beach etc...

Thank you for the welcome! However I've been a member of this forum for years as I was banned in quite awhile ago and stumbled across this forum right in time. My old account I believe was deactivated due to my non-activity, but I'm trying to be a bit more active than lurking around

I have noticed exactly what you are referring to. Even with some of my products sitting at the top, sales have been down. I chalk this up to seasonal sales cycles. Within that cycle, I have noticed burst of sales at time, though. Particularly at payday times. I guess those are typical customers, and the in between sales would be customers lingering while bored.

On another note, I am sure sales will explode as they always do around late September. Usually, around the first cool spells.

I think it's partly seasonal but also increased competition.

After some digging I do see that there are some new sellers listing , but everyone's getting sales for the same items besides me.. i feel left out haha I've literally changed nothing, but it seems the whole page 1 has actually changed and different sellers are up while others are gone.

I'll never understand how eBay decides these things.

It sounds like the search results were re-indexed and your listings were less appealing than other for some reason. It could be eBay likes their listings more than yours, it could be your competition has better sales statistics than you, etc.. There's all kinds of things "Casini" uses (if that's still what their search engine is called)

Definitely looking for more things, but I do already sell a variety of products. on top of that my items in this category have the most "Followers" as well as sales..I may just have to pop open a 5th account and get the ball rolling once more.

My sales are way down all across the board, amazon, ebay and etsy. Like it is at a stand still. cleaned out accounts. got rid of old listing and merch that was not selling. and added new. still nothing. Seems like everybody and their brother is a reseller now. The old days were soooo good. seems now this is just flat lined. Gets kinda scary. just wish it pick up way more.

I've been selling online for 7 years and we have a kind of cluster **** going on right now. We have the North Korea issues, several large hurricanes, and flooding. Sales are going to suck. But for you gift sellers the holidays are almost here. I have 3.5 months left until my business will pick up.
