Default Why use Thunderbird?

I can't remember where I saw...
I'm sure on another thread some were saying you should use Thunderbird.

Exactly why would you do this?
For ease of managing multiple accounts?

Thanks.

Thunderbird is an email client, all it will do is allow you to reply to all your emails from all the different accounts from one place, rather than login to all those accounts individually.

Though I advise you to only reply to those eBay messages if you are using Yahoo mail, as GMAIL reveals your IP.

I doubt it would link you. But better safe than sorry.

How does gmail reveal your IP? Via the email client?

Last I checked it does not reveal your IP address..

posts on the forums seem to suggest the opposite: Gmail is safe and Yahoo not safe?

When you use the online interface to reply to GMAIL or Yahoo mail, the IP is masked.

When you do the same with an email client such as thunderbird, GMAIL doesn't mask the IP, revealing your actual IP.

I mentioned this in another thread, and even tested it with another user on the forum. In fact it's even mentioned in Google small print.

No evidence to suggest eBay go this far, but if they did, it would be an easy link between your accounts.

Edit - Had to dig this up... see this post/thread I made... https://www.aspkin.com/forums/subscr...ails-move.html

See post above for clarification.

Not sure what posts your referring to, but generally speaking both GMAIL and Yahoo are perfectly fine. They work "equally" well.

I have issues with Thunderbird all the time. Same message, imap not taking in emails half and half, sometimes, then never. Works for a couple of weeks then stops downloading emails Google and especially Yahoo.
Any other more reliable/safe em clients out there?
