Getting Negative Feedback Removed
I know that unless the buyer has violated eBay policy in some way it's usually impossible to get a rep to remove negative feedback.
I had a strange experience over the summer where I purchased a first edition book from a seller. Got it in the mail and it wasn't a first edition. Opened a case, seller was extremely rude and combative. Their last message on the case was something like if eBay debits my account you will be hearing from my attorney.
I normally never leave negative feedback unless the seller is uncompromising when they're obviously in the wrong. This was a case where this seller was way beyond ridiculousness. So I left a negative feedback and was careful not to violate eBay policy. Just said they sold me a first edition book and it turned out to be a book club edition.
Well I checked their feedback a few days later and the feedback was removed. When I called in to ask why they said that the feedback was being reviewed by another department and they would let me know their ruling in 30 days. In the meantime, the feedback wouldn't appear in their profile.
Well, 30 days later I get a message saying they had completed their ruling and when I checked their feedback profile... it was gone.
I would love to know what this seller did to get the feedback removed. eBay had to step in on the dispute case and ruled in my favor... I didn't violate eBay policy (rep confirmed this) and yet they still got it removed.
This seller was legit crazy so I've always just theorized that they called into eBay threatening lawsuits or something. But I'd love to know if anyone has any insight into this.
I always try to go above and beyond to avoid negative feedback, even if the buyer is obviously in the wrong, but I still have to deal with a negative feedback here and there. The latest one in particular is straight up lying about the products I'm selling. They say they're from AliExpress and that the clothing I'm selling is Asian sizing (not US) This is simply not true and don't want my customers thinking that they're getting something from China lol.
