| degsey69 | 03-24-2019 01:17 AM | Re: Don't Fall Below Standard! Criminal fees! Being below standard carries more penalties than just extra 4% fees, you lose placing in the search for your listing on best match, they sometimes also kick in the 21 day hold on PayPal as well.
You need to keep communicating with the customer, deal with any cases opened by them in the resolution center before they can escalate it. Hate to say it but giving refunds saves the account. Also the thread starter did not mention his feedback rate which I would think is poor also. |
| agent006140 | 03-24-2019 07:27 AM | Re: Don't Fall Below Standard! Criminal fees! if he cant afford the extra 4%,then he should quit Ebay and sell on another venue or find something else to do with his time.
why carp here ,blame yourself for being a lousy seller, |

You hear people making 1-3k a month before tax,do you think it is not a real job spending your time finding goods to sell, taking pictures, listing them ,packing and shipping and leaving feedback and keeping records?
Packages do not just fly out of the window, you have to bring it to the post office or schedule a pickup.
If a seller is making $3k a month net of all expenses before tax,he is doing well, not too many sellers make that much, some dont even know how much they make or lose?
Oh,dont forget overtime and weekend,no one is going to compensate you for that, and dont expect dinner allowance if you work late |

Oh,dont forget overtime and weekend,no one is going to compensate you for that, and dont expect dinner allowance if you work late | It's not a real job tho. Not really. I mean sure, once you get closer to $3000 a month net, and above, ok. At $2000 or less, you're at or below the poverty line. Is it real work? Sure. Is it a job? not really. If he's making $3000 net, then that seller probably isn't the person I'm talking about, eh?
If 4% makes or breaks you, while making $3000 a month, you're gross sales must be huge. a profit margin that can't take -+4%, isn't a real job. It's a waste of your time. Calculate the hours worked, and see how much you're actually making per hour. |

Selling on eBay is not a "Job"- it is an entrepreneurial venture- Usually at first managed by 1 individual and gradually as one becomes acquainted with the art of online sales, they may have to hire out and expand...
I left my "job" working for the State, a 9-5, to pursue eBay full time- and I have grown substantially...
Next: I hope people understand that +=4% Is huge, in any industry when it comes to sales---And I hope people understand that this applies to only one of my stores  - so of course leverage is key.... |

Ya ever considered going negative in small niches just to starve out competition long enough so they couldn't be in business anymore? :pop2:
I've knocked a couple competitors out of the loop! |

I'm sorry. Just no. Competition on here can wake up one morning and just lower their prices 10% cause they feel like it. Then what? We aren't a brick and mortar. If 4% makes or breaks you, RUN. Go back to your steady income. If you've grown substantially but remain at a 4% breaking point, you haven't become acquainted with the are of online sales. Whoever is selling these things to you, has tho. |

I've knocked a couple competitors out of the loop! | Funny lol I do the opposite. I let them destroy themselves with their low prices, and then buy them out once they are done. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 04:34 PM. | |
