Can you summarize us on that new policy?

Just a short one is enough.

eBay now says if you do not include zip code in listings, you may experience lower traffic.

Hmmm...... when is this policy enacted?

It has been a little slow lately but I wonder if it's because of this or not.

so do you think the zipcode policy is to catch the dropshippers?

What annoys me most are Chinese sellers masquerading as USA sellers, then they ship either from China or using a drop shipper far away from their advertised location.

I bought some cables from what I thought was a USA seller once, and received a package from Shenzhen (China). I wasn't too thrilled about it.

It's impacted my sales for sure on two accounts. Seemingly cut by half.

On those two accounts the listings do not have (and have never had) any zip code in the location field. It just says USA.

I'm considering adding a zip code near me to see how much of an effect it has.. I'm just hesitant since these are non US accounts.

Some Chinese sellers are using FBA California.
I have bought some wall clocks from Chinese sellers whose shipping zipcode is CA and it turns out they are being shipped from California.

Most Chinese sellers. City Of Industry, California is where most come through or New Jersey. We distribute for Chinese sellers from WY and previously Kentucky.

then I think for USA accounts, there's no harm adding the zip code associated with the account registration I'd think?

I also use "USA" as shipping location.

I think the issue would be the zip code matching where the tracking is originating from

Honestly, I couldn't image eBay would actually enforce this long-term but who knows.

They probably will. They're trying to make it a better experience for buyers since buyers bring all the $ to the site. I don't think they care if certain sellers end up ghosted because of inaccurate item location info. At the end of the day eBay will still have the same amount of buyers/sales, they will just shift to other sellers with accurate listings, I guess.

there is this woman in Midwest who ordered a wedding dress, the Chinese seller claimed in the listing the gown is in USA and shipping time is fine.
She did not get the dress before the wedding ,she has to borrow another dress for her wedding.
Chinese sellers are also active on Ebay Australia, you can find them on your search listing.

No all that big. Only a couple thousand orders a week during peak season.
