Activity: 0% Longevity: 18% | | Scammed. Any suggestions?
I made a newbie mistake and shipped an item from my eBay account but I relied on a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ PayPal email saying that the funds had been transferred. The shipping address was 18221 150th Ave , LOS 44516
Springfield Gardens, 11413-4001 and the person’s name was Ruth GBloagbade. The package was signed by a a D, Danny. I called the location, Amamex International Couriers and asked for Mr. D. Danny and the guy that answered the phone hesitated before saying I had the wrong number and hung up. This forwarding company has horrible ratings with many reviews stating that it is like a black hole where items go in but never come out. So I have my suspicions that Aramex or one or more of their employees might be behind the scam on me. I’ve been in touch with Fedx and am complaining as to why they even delivered the package to a commercial business when I clearly marked the label saying that the destination was a residence. Any ideas? The item was a $3k watch.

I am sorry, this is likely a loss, you could file a police report. Assuming the account isn't stealth

Sorry to hear about your loss. 3k is a lot to lose.
I had one of these the other day. Someone was watching one of my expensive items as soon as it sold and was paid for I got an email from a random eBay buyer saying if they could change the shipping address to one in the USA. I live in the UK now if they had said a UK address considering how busy I was that day getting orders out I may have sent it ...

it looks like you ship to a forwarding address,Ebay INR policy is not the same as paypal,
for Ebay ,if it has been forwarded and the buyer files INR,she gets no buyer protection from Ebay.
But Paypal if I RECALL is just the opposite.
at this point, you dont know what has happened, only when the buyer files a case INR,INAD.
Fed Exp does not care if it is business or residence, the difference is the fee, some try to save money using one or the other.
Did you look up this EBAY BUYER ID,has she been with Ebay long>and what is the country she registered with Ebay Quote:

Why else would they tell me that the signer D. Danny doesn’t exist. This company is right next to John F Kennedy Airport and if New York wasnt under a **** down I would use my miles and fly there to get to the bottom of this. It’s so frustrating. Thanks for your comments. | someone at the forwarding company signed for it using a different name.
good luck getting $$ back from Fed EXP
There was a time someone would stand outside your front door and accepted packages for you, then you complained to the post office and then they will ask that person to prove he is the resident by using his key to open the front door.
But with Fed Exp,they delivered to the address which is open for business,so as far as Fed EXP goes,it has done its job

It's either been nicked at the depot or winging its way to Nigeria. Either way your chances of getting it back are incredibly slim to zero.
Fedex wont help, they've delivered it to the address you asked them to, your claim you wrote and instructions on the label won't mean a thing? Who does that?
A very painful and expensive lesson me thinks.

Don't attempt to rob FedEx, you'd be no better than the one who robbed you of your item.
FedEx Express' obligation to you is to deliver to the address supplied, not to a specific individual.
You'd get better sooner if you begin now to let it go.

Hi Truthseer,
Unfortunately, I have been a victim of this scam as well. Being a newbie, I guess we are good targets. I am embarrassed to say the amount of the merchandise I shipped. I was curious if you had any resolution on filing a claim with FedEx. I used the “cash app,” and the same
thing happened with emails that payments using the cash app links were sent. “Danny” signed. It wasn’t the person I sent it to, I sent it to residential, and he signed Danny. I also insured it via ups, but I am not sure if that is any help to me. I am at a loss looking for some help! I did see some helpful info on Yelp. This is a big scam and I wish I slowed from and researched further. Lesson learned. Please see the link below from help if you still need assistance. Any feedback from your end on your outcome would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.
UPDATE: A fellow yelper posted their review on Aramex with a
call to action. Let's come together as a community to stop
these criminals.
"If you actually live in New York state and are scammed at this
address I highly encourage you to contact the NYPD Precinct
#113 detective's division about it at (718)-712-773 ext 2. They
would have jurisdiction. As you are a resident of NY they
should be willing to investigate your loss especially if its above
the threshold loss value for a felony charge ($1000+).
For those who don't live in NY; if you have been scammed by
someone at this address you should file a complaint with
your local police entity and then go to the FBI's web site for
submitting complaints at ic3.gov to submit a complaint there
as well. The FBI can investigate this if they choose because it
involves inter-state criminal activity. Its also fairly easy for
them to track down these type of scammers because of the
resources they have available that local police departments
dont. Perhaps if they get enough complaints that list this ad-
dress they will open an investigation. You should also contact
your local FBI field office to discuss your complaint with
someone there as well. They may have a case open already
that your information could be added to." Thank you Michael

You can ask the carrier not to deliver the package,if you catch the scam early, once it leaves the country, then you could stilll try

USPS would try,not not as effective as Fed Exp or UPS,as it would contact local post office.
Once I was scammed by Russian on some gold jewelry,USPS tried to contact Russian post office, but it did not work.
Using private carriers to ship overseas is very expensive,DHL dealer may give you a discount
