This was the 90s, but if you aren't old enough to remember, that was a very good price. They managed to be very profitable too. Every item was a little above cost and they did a ton of volume. Most pizza places nearby could not compete and went out of business.

One day the last remaining competitors decided to bite the bullet and try their strategy. Before long all of the pizza places were losing money including the one that started this idea. There was not enough volume to go around. Before long, they were all out of business.

At first I thought you meant 4$ a slice, and I thought, wow, that isnt that bad. Thats about the price we pay nowadays.

Then I realized you meant per pie. Thats crazy!

As an update, the seller's listing ended up getting removed. He sent me another message a few days after the initial one, basically begging me to increase my prices. Had considered reporting him but as usual I got busy with other stuff and just kinda shifted my focus.

But yeah. Was kinda wondering why his listing hadn't gotten removed by now anyway. We sell in a "risky" space, but it's a landscape that Ive kind of figured out over the years. Eg I usually know what to do to survive bot sweeps, but my competitors dont... not to mention this particular seller has only been around since May and just kind of start selling super hard right off the bat. Oh well, one less headache to worry about
