You guys really want to know the truth? Okay here it is I buy formula by the 100s but not because its ⊗⊗⊗⊗ formula. Its because all the formula I buy are DENTED cans. Dented! Not ⊗⊗⊗⊗! The place I get it from is not online like I said. And for everyones info. Go to eBay and type in formula. You will see ALOT of people buy formula to give to there kids. I dont want to hear no bull about it not being safe. I will tell you even more! The cans I sell go at the store for around $26.00 I buy them dented but sealed for around 13. Turn around and sell them by the 100s for $20 a can. I always sell lots of at least 40. Plenty of profit made from not doing much work. Yes the cans are dented. But I take pics of the cans and explain the cans are damaged. But just because you dont buy anything online you would consume, dont judge other people who do. Its honestly cheaper to do so. Yes I agree there are a grip of ⊗⊗⊗⊗ items out there. But thats what research on the seller is for. Anybody want to argue this issue go right ahead. I know JBluntz was not trying to start any kind of rumor. But whatever happened to my thread about how to do sell. Please get back on topic!

I don't see selling formula to be a problem. Sure there are listings on alibaba for china sellers that are selling ⊗⊗⊗⊗ but from what i see all the pictures that are attached to there listings are pulled from the internet (which USUALLY means it's bait and switch or scam) and there is not a lot of sellers that sell it. Now with forumula having a 70% or better sell through rate on eBay (tarapeek is useful) i would think it would be sold alot more on alibaba, but i am willing to bet that the alibaba sellers that have them listed, dont actually sell it, but more so use it as a way to draw traffic and inquiries, since it is a highly searched item. Now don't get me wrong there might be some ⊗⊗⊗⊗ formula out there. But i highly doubt it would trigger a red flag from eBay's VERO department.

Items that you can buy at your local grocery store, or local wholesaler will not likely trigger any VERO because you can get it anywhere at any time of the day. it's like selling TV series DVD's as long as your pictures are legit and don't look like total obvious ⊗⊗⊗⊗ and it's not disney then chances are you will be ok. What you need to do is just sell some crap around the house, and throw in a few cans of formula with it at low quantity just to get the ball rolling, and after you get a few feedback for the low quantity that you sold start selling in higher quantities.

Who said that the 21 day hold is removed after 20 DSR ratings. i have over 40 DSR and still get that BS 21 day hold.

This thread went out of control quick... hahaha

I personally think accounts with buying activity before selling activity are less likley to be looked at by ebay. If you open an account and start selling immediately, this just looks bad. Historically speaking most people who sell on ebay, started out buying stuff on ebay. Watch items, try to get deals... etc..... you have to act like a real, NEW person if you want ebay to not limit you off the bat. It even reads in the stealth guide to not start out selling like a pro.

I think your plan is good. Have you considered starting your own website?

There was a store where I grew up called Jennies Dent and Bent. They sold stuff like this, and seemed to be a good business.

The best piece of advice here.... don't limit yourself to just ebay. Why don't you start your own website or blog and talk about the money savings of purchasing dented cans?

This thread just proves my point hands down that not everyone on here is committing a crime. We should not assume that is the case. Doesn't anyone else get tired of seeing xxxx instead of a word? ugh... there's a reason this is blacked out!!!

Very good advice. Web hosting is very cheap and even one sale would more then cover your costs. Its a nice feeling to have some of your sales off ebay. And no listing/FVF

Well see like I have said before. I do have a big list of buyers that I sell to. I rarely use eBay. Bu there are times were some buyers, rarely, but cant pay for the items or dont need at the moment. Since I hate to sit on product for to long, I would like to sell it. Usually its only about 100 cans a month this happens with. And trust me I sell 1000s. But for those 100 or so cans a month I have I would like to ditch onto eBay like I used to to before getting suspended for account linking when I signed in on a shared computer. I dont care about long lasting eBay accounts. I wouldn mind starting a new one every month. I dont mind buying product from eBay to build feedback. I just want to do so then list on it safely but I still dont know how much is safe to list. Would nine cans for even $150 be to bad on a month old account with 30 feedback?

No selling 9 cans for $150 on a month old account would not be a problem at all. Glad to hear that you have found yourself a niche product but to me it really seems odd that you can continue to always have that many dented cans. I would think that if dented cans were a issue the manufactuer would come up with a better packing solution to avoid damaged product.

But see I cant disclose here how I get these cans. How do you know its just one manufacturer? How do you know its one brand of can? If I were to say how I am operating my business then everyone would do the same and I wouldnt be able to feed my family.

MM i got an idea. Why not try to dropship? Get the PRO's to sell on eBay for you. "I Aspkin should open a section for "approved" sellers that wish to drop ship items"

Anywyas i know where you could find a bunch of sellers that would be interested in dropshipping from you. PM me i will tell you the website.

Also some sellers that sell a bunch of baby formula on eBay buy it from people that have food stamps and are on wellfare. They sell the baby formula cheap so they can buy beer or some other shiiit. "Totally wrong" but i meet a woman that would buy it from a bunch of people every month. again i know this is totally f-ed up but thats how they roll lol. Dont know if she got arrested but thats how she made a living at the time..

Yeah I bought from a lady that had WIC and her baby wasnt on formula anymore so she had no use for the formula anymore. So she went and got it and just sold it for side money.

I think you have a great niche. Not glamorous but profitable. Your lucky that you have a source, and I already had surmised that you are able to get slightly distressed cans somewhere.
It seems that you won't have too much problem selling a certain amount on Ebay.
You're using Craigslist already I presume?

Not trying to insult mexicans, I my self am a half mexican. Anywyas here on the border town i live. some of these people 99.9% mexicans get the wellfare or foodstams or what ever it is, they contact the underground buyer they buy the stuff they can sell and get cash for it. Then they go and buy food on mexico cheaper and they get to buy thier beer with what ever money they got left with. TOTALLY FD-UP" This is why people dont like mexicans. I myself dont like the mexicans that abuse the system. another example, they get the fafsa from college get student loans and they go buy themselfs a bmw..

sorry to rant but this is 40% why the economi is in the toilet. is these damn abusers of the system that the goverment takes care off then they go spend their money on mexico.

All you gotta do is buy a few low priced items and sell a few and start out with 1 can along with some other cheap items and work your way up from there.

I am not asking how youget these. I just stated that it seems weird that there are that many dented cans. More power to you in making as much money as possible.

Everyone happy now? All good to go and not too many egos dented

Another thread where a more carefully expressed explanation would have saved everything going off topic

I still think you need to start your own site. Ebay is expensive... and paypal is expensive... with your own site, I bet you would make a lot more money because you wouldn't have the fees, costs of making a new account.... you don't have to worry about ICE taking your stuff down

Sites are great...but in the mean time...you need current cash flow...work on the site ON THE SIDE.

You probably need the money NOW, like most of us.

Cash NOW is not always the best practice. If you can sell it for 3 dollars more per can and wait one month wouldn't that be better? And ebay takes 12%!!!

As far as building some seller feedback, I still got some iTunes cards. I have some with a value of $50. I wouldn mind using these on a new account to build feedback. Sell one, wait for feedback then sell another etc. This will be on a new account so should I open it. Buy stuff for like a week. Like 10 items. Get 10 feedback then list my first one? Or will I get stuck with a MC010
