Default MC125 limit on ebay account: Why?

Last week I was made a "power seller".....Ive been a seller on this account since 2007....Today I get this email from ebay:

MC125 Your eBay selling account has been limited -

Dear ........

Our goal is to make sure eBay is a safe and trusted marketplace. In our continued effort to help meet our goal, we're introducing account limits to all of our sellers. Many members already have limits placed on their account. Account limits allow us to learn about your selling activity and to make sure you're adhering to our selling practices policy and performance standards. Limits vary by seller and can change over time.

You can now sell up to 318 items monthly and up to $759.00 monthly.

What kind of items do you sell?

What are your DSR's like? Not just # but your low 1's and 2's from your dashboard?

Feedback?

Have past or currect claims? also # from your dashboard.

all this can have an affect on this. Unless we know these things there is really no way to tell for sure.

Wow, good for you. Hope your business stays solid. However, I am amazed that people still buy adult dvds with all the download-able and free porn on the net.

Hey KingRay, I posted my DSRs and all my info,,,,,can you shed some light on my situation. The thread seemed to get side tracked on porn rather than addressing what sounds like a whole new level of BS by ebay....Have you ever heard of a MC125 ?? I havent and I searched the Internet and this site and found nothing about MC125....

Also in the email ebay said that "In our continued effort to help meet our goal, we're introducing account limits to ALL of our sellers."

Any thoughts....

Thanks

To be honest with you, I would personally just call them and ask them. They may tell you straight up what happened.

I dont think it was the difference in monthly income but you never know. Especially if you are a powerseller. They require you to bring in a min. amount to keep that status anyway.

call them. They arent sitting there with a "suspension" button waiting for the slightest reason to push it. really, I talked to them this morning and it was very pleasant.

Go through their site ad get the PIN number 1st though. they will give you one that helps with verification and it lasts 60 minutes. That made it a brease. Do that and atleast you will know. You are going to just get speculation on here since no one is familiar with it.

I wanted to add this: It might be your seller performance DSR's. The 1's and 2's are very low with 8 on one and 12 on the other. Those may be what did it. I am at what you are feedback wise and I have 1 max right now. I think I had a 2 in that box one time. 12 seems real high to me. even though it doesnt affect the score much they only allow so many 1's and 2's regardless of what you have by way of DSR number

You need to keep track of the low DSR's. You have way too many.

This brings up the red flags. If you start getting low ratings in item as described, you need to either describe items better, or get rid of items that are causing problems, or make your own porn movies and you should have first hand information on how to describe them better.

Low DRS's in shipping cost is easier, just offer free shipping and build the cost into the price. It can't cost much to ship DVD's anyway. If you look in the E-Bay help it will show you how to run reports for different countries. So maybe get rid of international buyers if they are dinging you.

The first link they sent you explains about limits. Why they are low for you and how to raise them.

The low DSR's are lowering your limits.

I don't sell DVD's but that sounds like a high risk category with a lot of limits in it.

The answer as to why you got powerseller AND limits is probably just two separate parts of ebays system not in sync. One says you qualify for this and one says you get limited for low DSR's.

That is probably why half of all this crap they hand us happens.

A phone call will clear it up and get your real answers. I am sure they will tell you exactly what is wrong.

Thats my worry though....I dont want to call because all my info is ⊗⊗⊗⊗ and I dont want them trying to verify me......... limitation is
better than being shut down completely.............

Have you EVER heard of a Mc125 ??? Ebay says that "limits are coming for all sellers.... Am I the first person to ever get this...??

Maybe all sellers with low Dsr's If they limited everyone they would be out of business in weeks.

You dont have all your info written down so you can answer questions? They really dont ask many though. They just verify your account with what I said above in a previous post here. You get that PIN and it knows who you are because you were logged in to get it. They already had all my info when i called today. They didnt even ask what my bank numbers where. Really its not bad. mine was all BS info too.

5 minutes of my life gone.

Try not to go off topic just because the P word got mentioned.

OP, mind how you describe ebay. Dont be calling them names in open forum.

Your MC125 is a little present from the (R) side of ebay. They have no idea that the (L) side of ebay saw fit to make you a power seller. Happens almost on a daily basis.

Not going to buy into the I dont wanna contact them whine. You want to sort the problem. You joined a forum to get advice. It;s a trend with some users, they want to complain about ebay but can not possibly do a thing to help themselves except moan to the forum.
Sorry, that got canxcld.
The advice is consider contacting them. Look at your DSRs, improve your ability to sell your goodies. Simples.

Im not talking about my basic info....Im talking about when they ask you to verify your identity.....that public records BS.....or when they make you fax in drivers license, utility bill, etc.....I cant do any of that.......and I dont want to trigger that by calling......

Personally I dont think this has to do with my DSR,,,, I think it has to do with the fact that I sell dvds exclusively and that my sales jumped from $1500 in april to $2700 in may.......the limitation came june 1st.

If this is the truth, you can blag your way thro' a call, yes?

WOW... There are very experienced people on here telling you what to do and you keep asking the same question. Yeah it got sidetracked with porn but you still got your answer in between all that. and again after and then again. CALL THEM. If people that know what they are talking about tell you to simply call them its not becuase they simply want to tell you that. its because its the best thing for you to do.

you can say this and that about what caused it but no one will EVER know until you contact them. Why would asking them a question trigger all that anyway. just act normal and you are fine. relax and just do it already.

Let me clarify my stance......My DSR numbers are better now(much lower 1's & 2's) then they were 3 months ago.....and I have never been limited when my dsrs were alot worse....

I DO NOT want anyone at ebay taking a close look at my auctions or my info....
My registration name is a company name...not a human name.....my address is a PO box......my phone number is a generic number for the local library............

I dont want to call up and have some outsourced ebay rep to flag my account because I called........I have had a guy do that to me before.....he told me right on the phone that my he has flagged my account and requires my verification....

Im NOT here to whine....Im her to present a MC125 limitation from ebay....Ive searched google and I have searched the ENTIRE askpin website...and I have NEVER heard of this mc125 before nor have I ever seen this scripted language "In our continued effort to help meet our goal, we're introducing account limits to all of our sellers. Many members already have limits placed on their account."

This ebay email DOES NOT make direct reference to my DSR, nor any other specific "foul up" that i did............

So maybe the knee jerk "just call ebay" wouldnt be the best way to go.....any thoughts??? Is there any one out there that has a different take on this...????

Sorry if my apprehension has hurt your feelings enough that you needed to write this backhanded message to me.
