Default After 90 Days, Selling Limits

So I started a stealth account a little over 90 days ago and had the classic 10 items or $1,000 limit for those first 3 months. Now that I am past that EB has lifted the limit to 20 items or $1,000. In my experience, before, they would raise the minit to around 50 items and $5,000. Have they limited the account without notifying me? Will these limits ever increase? Is this new increase to only 20 items and no dollar amount increase the norm in 2012? Thanks in advance!

I have accounts 2 years old with limits.

Every account is different.

Small increases will occur and if you do well and have good DSRs you will get larger increases around 100 sales or so.

I have a 2003 account and I was limited... 100 items $5,000 I used to sell on this account and it has 4504 positive feed back last time I check I has like 23 negs I think they are limiting all accounts,, that are small sellers now I use it manly for buying and selling a few items a month...unless you are a power selling churning out 2000 items a month your going to have a limit,,, I believe to help out the power sellers and drive out the little guy

keep hitting your selling limit every single month and keep those scores up high!! it will go up.. just give it time and keep being perfect maxing out your limits.

they'll never move the limit up if there is no reason, or if you have low scores.

This might be a naive question but don't ALL accounts have some sort of limit? I have had my account for 2 years and I also had the 10 items/$500 limit initially. My limits now are 2000 items/$130 K as a top rated seller. Do any sellers have no limits and can sell without any type of care? Just curious....

No I thought everyone built their way up to building those type of limits. I do have a Paypal account and use it to pay my ebay fees and postage but have my own merchant account. I believe the key is to keep Paypal out of the loop.

I have a totally legit account that dont have those limits.

Have you read many here struggle to get even 5,000 sales limits?

5000 would be way enough for me....

I am looking to hold steady at about 2000 monthly and make back-ups and clean-up what have. Make sure addresses and phones are up to par, sell only item that ship fast get good DSR stuff like that until November-February! The hot zone for me...

I want to pay my first house cash.... Eventually have rental units as I get older, dream it and it will happen!

Limits keep raising more and more as you get positive feedback. Seems to be random when they raise but definitely automated.

I also sell legitimate VERO items (4/5 of my inventory is VERO). The paypal issue was always my stumbling block with the SSN request. Selling an item that people want at a lower price makes it so that my customers have been willing to step outside of their safety net of Paypal. I honestly think that "selling" yourself and your honesty on the phone to the ebay customer service has been how to get much higher limits. And I just double checked my limits, and I was slightly inaccurate. Just my thoughts...
Does this stealth have a EIN or anything attached?

No it does not. My merchant account has my ssn but Paypal has never asked for any additional info nor have I provided any.

These days you need to call in and request higher limits, when this whole seller limitation thing can around you could just wait 90 days and it would go away, now your stuck with it.

Tricky *******s they are will only allow you to choose a higher number, or higher selling limit as you can not have both. You need to call up every 30 days to keep it climbing.

Very true. That's why you just have as many stealth accounts as you need to hit whatever your revenue goals are.

Because of the scammers. They ruin it for us all. Plus of course ebay greatly favors its TRS's and Iso accounts. They do not care much for new sellers.

I'll be happy if my account reaches 50 items a month and $5,000. That seemed to be the norm a few years ago for selling limit increases but that looks to have changed drastically! Does anybody know how long stealth accounts usually stay active before being limited/suspended (if you have been ultra careful and made no mistakes)?

Stealth accounts can oftentimes last forever - IF you have been ultra careful and made no mistakes
