Default Best dongle/USB internet in Canada?

I know Rogers, Bell, Telus, Virgin mobile have plans for their mobile internet/USB stick.

I'd probably get around 10 eBay accounts running at once so I'd want to keep the date usage to a minimum - but would only visit pages such as eBay & PayPal. I'd assume uploading photos would use up a lot of data too :(

If you're in Canada and you use a dongle, which company do you have a plan with? What do you recommend? And how easy is it to change IP addresses?

Thank you

Default ANY Canadians here use a USB dongle/internet stick? HELP?

If you live in Canada and use a mobile internet stick/USB dongle to change your IP address for Stealth, I need your help/advice/recommendations, etc....I'm looking to buy one so I can start up my stealth accounts. I'm being urged to use VPS for my IP but I'd rather use a dongle..

Anyway, if you do live in Canada and have a dongle.....

What mobile company are you with?
Are the variety of IPs good/safe?
Would you recommend it?

I'm worried about getting a dongle and i) having trouble changing IPs. ii) repeating IPs. iii) slow internet or just bad overall

Thanks in advance for ANY help

Never got a recommendation of VPS for within Canada from me.

You could consider, and not be limited to:

Rogers
Virgin Ca

Work out a data plan first to factor costs.

Rogers may have an edge because of its network coverage.

Treat yourself to an Android, Ipad etc & tether

Hear Rogers does have better coverage - avoid Fido.

If I treated myself to an iPhone, do you think 3GB of data would be enough per month? (Of course, I'd be tethering it.)

I'd be running around 10 stealth accounts :P. I would mainly just be posting listings (which includes uploading photos), answering eBay messages, and that's it. I'd do all my late night browsing, downloading, YouTube watching, etc from my home connection.

Again, do you think 3GB would be enough for me?'

And is it really that easy to get an IP address with tethering? (New one every time)

PS: I'd go with Rogers for an iPhone

I just talked to Rogers about their mobile internet sticks/dongle and when I asked if I'd get a new IP every time I plug in & out, he said it depends on how long it's been offline (in other words: I might have to wait quite a bit) - I need it to be convenient & switch almost instantly!

I also asked if I'd get the same 10-20 IPs over again, or if they have a wide range of them... and was told that they couldn't guarantee anything and that I might get the same pool of IPs. :(

UGHHHH WHAT CAN I DO? I need to get started on Stealth and getting down this whole switching IP thing has got me stuck :(

Default Using VPS within same country? Yes or no!?

I'm located Canada and am looking to sell within Canada. Just to be clear, I am not looking to sell in a different country, which apparently VPS is often used for.

Anyway, I've been recommended to use a VPS by one person - while I've seen plenty of others say that I shouldn't use VPS within my country. But I want to know why..

What are the disadvantages to it?

I was first considering a dongle, which is what I've seen most people recommending instead. So I looked into it...

At first, I thought you could just plug the dongle in & out, and boom - you get a new IP address every time. But after talking to my provider (Rogers) customer service, he said that I can't just get one instantly. I'd have to wait quite a bit -.-

I also asked about the variety of IPs they have since I was afraid of getting the same recycled ones - and he said he can't guarantee that I won't get a pool of same IPs. -.-

I'm looking to run around 8-10 accounts here by the way.

As far as I'm concerned, using a VPS seems ok. If there's any disadvantages, PLEASE let me know. Otherwise, I see it as perfect - since I can have a Static IP for each account. --> That eliminates the hassle of writing down IPs every time if they were dynamic. Plus, it eliminates the worry of getting recycled IPs. Plus, if I go on vacation, I can access my account from outside the country.

I've asked a similar question before but I never got a definitive answer. So..why not VPS? What's "bad" about it? It seems a lot more hassle free compared to other options as far as I'm concerned....or am I missing something here?

I'm going to bump this. As i'm interested in finding a solution here too.

This stick from rogers looks good, and the prices are reasonable (one reason not to get a vps). But again dont want to get limited to a Static IP, and roped into a year long contract.

VPS seems like an expensive alternative compared to some of the dongles. Some one told me in a thread of mine that ebay can see your using a VPS. I know this would be true of proxies, but if you're tunneling and set port forwarding, i'm not sure how exactly they can see you are using a VPS? Without doing a port scan on every single one of its users.
I can see them being able to narrow down VPS Ips if they 1. are public. 2. have been abused in the past.....
