 Dilemma (nonstealth)
Hi all, hope you can help.
I have an old (nonstealth) ebay acct and personal paypal acct. Both are in good standing, never any issues, no suspensions, etc.
I want to start selling again using the established ebay acct, but...
The account is not registered in my name. It is in my former "partner's" name (family member). At the time it was created, ebay regs regarding "partners" permitted one name to be registered, so that's what was done.
Ppal account is also in "partner's" name.
Bank acct is in both our names (still).
Ppal and ebay accounts are probably linked, I don't know for sure. I know that I've made purchases in the past on ebay w/the ppal acct. It is a personal ppal acct- No cc payments for ebay sales were accepted by me during the time it was active, only echeck and existing funds (that's how old these accts are).
I originally set up all the accts, I have authorized access.
I want to start selling again using this ebay account but partner is no longer involved and I don't want any monies received from sales to be connected to former partner/family member for tax purposes. I need to find a way to use this acct and disassociate former partner from any $ received.
This is what I understand so far:
Research tells me that ebay will not allow the registered name to be changed in the acct. to my name. ? Physical address would remain the same, my real one.
Ppal account: I can add my own separate email to this acct and receive payment bypassing "partner".? Can also delete former partner's ppal email and ebay email. Can add new bank acct in my name only to ppal acct to transfer into. Can add cc with my name to paypal acct. Is this the best way to go- Would this be proof enough to show that money is going to me only and not former partner?

Regarding "safe way to pay ebay fees": (kudos to HWGA, money grab is one reason I've not been using ebay). I've been reading the boards and if I understand correctly, name, address, etc. on a vcc or giftcard must match ebay acct info. -correct? If so, it wouldn't work with existing ebay acct. if I got a vcc under my name? although addresses would match.
Can anyone tell me what to do/how I can use this ebay acct again using my real info and eliminating risk/$connection to my former "partner". Again, account is in good standing. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.
