Default 13 Year Old Ebay Account, but no Paypal

My old business partner lives in Florida and told me he has no more use for his eBay account. I have a legit electronics business in Los Angeles and want to use his account. It's 13 years old with no limits. He gave me his login/password but I have NOT logged in yet. I have the ebay stealth guide and have read everything, as well as many posts on this forum. He has cleared out his account information on ebay but now I'm worried about changing the account info. I decided to keep his first & last name on the account, as well as the user name. As far as address, I see 2 options: 1- make a PO box with a real street address in Los Angeles or 2- buy a mail forwarding box in Florida. I know I can find a stealth address in my area with his last name, but the I can't accept returns.

As far as Paypal: I see the only option is to create a merchant account with a business name/EIN registered under my name.

The other question is the CC. I can buy a vanilla visa for ebay but for paypal, I think I'll need a business account/CC registered with my name.

For IP, I have a T-mobile dongle which is dynamic, but some IP locator websites show the geographical location as Los Angeles. I don't mind switching to a dial-up if there's no geo data. I was also told that cellular based ISP like a hotspot will not show any geo data, but when I tried to tether on my cell phone it still shows T-mobile Los Angeles area.

For phone number, I bought a new cheapy netzero phone from walmart with 100 minutes.

Why can you not just use a VCC from here or any other source to verify the PayPal account?

Why risk an address that will not allow returns?

Do you want to hurt the account

You must make sure to make this account survive. Make an error with anything and the account will be lost.

I agree, I just don't know if there is a red flag by changing from Florida address/IP to Los Angeles on a 13 yr old account.

is VCC better than a business bank account card?

Changing info will flag any accounts. There are certain ways to approach the issue

Are you running a stealth account currently?

Regarding your next post, the vcc may not be the ideal card to attach

It might be wise to create your own stealth accounts first get experience on how to operate the stealth way once you understand how to create and operate and everything is going good than attempt to work with that 13 year old account

There's so many factors operating stealth , yes you learn alot on the forum and guide but your own experience is necessary

I have my own ebay account but it's not stealth, it's my personal info.

Just recently got MC999 for IP suddenly showing Puerto Rico. Called, told them im using dongle and agent stated she noted the account and account re-instated.

If you change info then I wouldnt change more then one item at a time maybe month apart.

Change address only. Make Paypal in same name and upgrade to business. Add your EIN to the Paypal once the account is established and safe.

You can add your personal debit/credit card to Paypal.

I want to use a Los Angeles PO Box near my house to accept returns, I just don't want a red flag. The only other option I see is a mailbox in Florida, but the cost will add up if there's alot of returns.

What has worked for me is addressing like this:

XYZ eBayname C/O po box name on the ID you provided slightly mispelled
PO Box 783456
Ft. Laud., FL 33065

It has been working for me but I am thinking of putting a return shipping label in the pkg. to eliminate any chance to link.

A sensible business plan would not have faulty merchandise. Think of that

So as this stands you have a legit account on the West Coast

You have a chance to use/ run a legit account on the East Coast

Think of what I just wrote

See if you get what I am saying

Think outside the box

UPDATE:

So far so good on the Ebay end. Logged on from my dongle and changed the pw and email.

I don't have a Paypal attached so I applied for a merchant account with Authorize.net with my real info.

I'm still not clear whether or not I should open a new business Paypal using an LLC to link to the old ebay. Name/address will match ebay, but verification using an EIN under my name.

I had no luck with a merchant account so I had to open a Paypal business account.
So far so good after 2 weeks.

Question: If I want to subscribe to an Ebay Store, ebay is asking for a credit card on file for store subscription fees. Can I use a Vanilla Visa?

From what I have understood about the eBay store - you can use a vanilla visa once registered to the address of your account THEN you pay your fees in advance with different card rather than taking it out of pp.
