So i know that in the stealth guide, it stressed that the first option would be to use a friends info, because its ahrd to get around the SSN reuqirment once the account grows. So my question is, the people here who have hundreds of accounts, i assume you arent using 500 friends to make accounts...so are you just using the DBA/EIN option?

The people with 100s of accounts aren't doing any IRS requirements for ebay/paypal, they have that many accounts for that very purpose. So what they do is keep sells low per account and spread their stock across all their accounts, as to never trigger a paypal request for tax information, while still doing 5-6 figures sales a month combined.
The key is to just keep creating accounts ,"you can never have enough accounts " that's my motto. If it looks like a hobby you will get less harassment from everyone buyers, competing sellers, eBay, no one will bother you if you're selling 5 to 10 items a month on one account, and when you're flying under the radar u will last a lot longer
