Default Logged into same IP twice (ONCE)

Hi everyone.

I use phone tethering and recently logged into one of my newer accounts to withdraw money and simply check my eBay account. I put the IP I was using into my excel spread sheet and accidentally came across the fact I had logged into this stealth account with another one (ONE) time not more than 1 month ago.

I can't say what I did activity wise as I didn't even know I made the slip up in the first place.

Extremely frustrating.

Hopefully I can get some piece of mind... can you all reconfirm that logging into a stealth with the same IP one time doesn't link it completey?

I'm not looking for sugar coating, honest replies....

Yes these accounts were created around the same time.

We all make mistakes, I just can't believe I made this silly mistake...

Just to clarify new stealth accounts A & B had the same IP used one month apart?

The two accounts were created 2 days apart.

My assumption is I logged into account A and account B 2 weeks apart.

I can't imagine I did THAT much activity as they were new accounts. I really have NO idea how I made this slip up. I have plenty back up accounts its just I hate the idea I might grow these accounts and say 6 months later I get the hammer because of this.

(Talking about investing time, money into the accounts after the 3 month probation period is up)

I just hate feeling like I have to look over my back because I made a stupid link like this..

The reality is no one can give you a guaranteed answer but of course there is a high chance that the 2 packages were linked. But that doesn't mean they cant go on to be perfectly good accounts. Can happen to anyone just be more careful in the future, and baby these 2 accounts in particular more than usual and start off slow

Yep. Your right. I guess it is what it is at this point. One account has 100/5000 limit the other 10/1000. I've seen many posts that IP alone doesn't cause linkage its just they were created so close together and well they're probably linked. I have a lot more activity on my 100/5000 account and scarce activity on the other (as you may imagine why).

If I was you, I might consider not using the 10/1000 package for a few months and just stick to the 100/5000 package till you feel comfortable to use the other package

We have found that one off sign ins may create a link.

It would be cruel to say you are OK but at the same time, it is probable you may stay under the radar.

Thats a thought. I really have no NEED to use it. Its just with me I have the mindset each account I have will one day turn into a business (LLC). Of course this isn't the case with every account but nevertheless I strive to make each account perfect in eBays eyes so the day I invest money to make it LLC...

Were talking lots of flow of money in and out of the account. I've never had the horror stories where you get 2000+ limited in money from paypal but hey I know it can happen to me.

I actually think I'm going to just stop all activity on that account for a few months. Wise advice.

Not a bad idea but........

Later when you need to kick start it for selling, you are going to need browsing history.

Have a careful think of that.
If it bugs you, maybe even use a brand new IP later on.

Over the years, I have killed a couple of montiors when I have signed into the same IP & pulled the power plug.

Just be careful of what you do and always keep your options open.

Good Luck

This is exactly what creates the stress with stealth. You just really NEVER know at the end of the day. Early on with a few of my accounts I had stupidly allowed images in my email. I view all my emails on my iPhone....Well I asked some people here what will happen and pretty much everyone said I will get the hammer on all my accounts with days...

Didn't happen. Not to say it could in the future but its been so long I would be SHOCKED if it were to happen. Then again....who knows (expect eBays bots)

I may have been a little extreme on the whole 0 activity. It will be very very minimal.

When being linked by IP it seems it happens after you're already beinginvestigated. i don't think they have a system that is made to link IP addresses all day. To be safe I would start opening more pages just in case. And when logging IP use the control F feature to make sure it hasnt been used already

I caught myself in the act last night while tracking my IP. What most likely happened was when you hit control F the box shows up... well whatever is behind the box unless you don't move it you can't see if its already in your excel spread sheet. Really silly mistake. It is what it is at this point.

I think your right about the whole logging IPs daily. Its a whole different story when its a Static IP and if the ip is banned per say. All my accounts get a new IP every log in so it SHOULD in eBays eyes look like I'm floating around... theres no pattern to trace each account. Then again its up to the bots and we obviously have no idea whats going on in their computers.

I can't say you are safe either but I have made a boo boo like that several times over the past 3 years and like I always say I have never been linked since coming to the forum.
Not sure why but just is. I wish you the best of luck. I don't think any type of action on your part is in reality going to change anything.

Yep. No sense of wasting my time worrying about something I really can't control/change at this point. I believe logging in once/twice generally speaking should be ok.

Its a huge difference when your making a mistake compared to logging in everyday to the same IP constantly. Also say that IP is banned, and or was just connected to a account that was limited. I hope all is good. I'm going to selling more on the account that has 100/5000 and let the other cool out. I have no NEED to sell on it anyways as it only has the 10/1000 limit...

Aging it doesn't hurt.
