Yodel stealing packages.. again. My rights?
A few months ago I sold 2 expensive items and unfortunately chose yodel to deliver them. BOTH packages going to opposite sides of the country were 'lost'.
What are my rights when it comes to this? I paid for a service which included signature on delivery. Both packages did not get a signature and both yodel depots claim the packages cannot be found and the delivery drivers cannot remember if or when the packages were delivered or even attempted to be delivered. I am assuming both of these packages have been stolen by yodel delivery drivers as they would have been at the yodel depots otherwise. Both packages even had an extra label inside the box so even if the outer label was damaged there would have been no reason for them not to know where the package was going.
The problem is I did not insure these packages on their site, insuring would have cost me an extra £25 per parcel and due to them only being delivered 2-3 hours from me I thought it would be a very slim chance they could go missing especially since the boxes were big etc.
What can I do in this situation? I didn't insure the packages but surely since I paid for a service in which required a signature upon delivery and I did not get that then I should be able to claim for the worth of the package? Has anyone had this experience with yodel before? I have contacted them so many times but they just tell me they will get back to me within a few days and then nothing happens. |
