Activity: 0% Longevity: 50% | | How is this seller NOT in trouble?
There is a seller that goes by the name of "ryxxs_xxxs," he is selling all his smartphones (apple mostly) in the "New" category. His sales are very strong.
His feedback is nearly 18,000.
Here is the description for ebays "new" items:
New: A brand-new, unused, unopened, undamaged item in its original packaging (where packaging is applicable). Packaging should be the same as what is found in a retail store, unless the item is handmade or was packaged by the manufacturer in non-retail packaging, such as an unprinted box or plastic bag. See the seller's listing for full details
When you scroll down to the sellers description it states the following:
Brand New Unused With Open Generic Box,
9/10 Condition
...not adding up

He has 18,000 feedback
He can do a lot of things most people cannot
It may be that the exterior packaging is a bit damaged?
Why not go ahead and ask him if you really want to know

Why not go ahead and ask him if you really want to know | I called ebay and asked to investigate him.

It is infuriating when you as a seller have to take razor thin margins BECAUSE you are doing things legit, and other sellers can just violate the rules and make bigger profits...how is that fair?
My call was well worthit.

If you read my original post its so clear....the sellers description is completely contradictory to ebays description of "new."

Again it may be that the box is slightly damaged. Even in retail shops you buy things that are new with slightly damaged boxes. Very few people complain because who really cares that much if a box is damaged?
Why dont you do ahead and ask the seller why they are describing it as 9/10 if it really matters that much to you. Personally I would just put effort into my own accounts

His description states the item is "open box"..brand new item category on ebay is "factory sealed"...plus the fact that its in a "generic box"...ebay brand new item category is in "original box"...and the fact that it states may have minor marks etc...this is OBVIOUSLY not a brand new item..

Afraid eBay are very very unlikely to do anything about this
So long as his customers are happy then they will be happy

Before taking up such a principled position.......remember you are a stealther.
If you get rattled by silly things like this then you are gonna have strokes with some of the stuff that will be waiting for you further down the line.

The time you have taken ringing eBay, moaning on the forum, replying to others post on this thread. I could of probably made about 5-10 high limit accounts and started to let them age.
Worry about yourself. Being a jobsworth and worrying about other sellers isn't good business, whatever business you are in......... | The Following 4 Users Say Thank You to vetus For This Useful Post: | |

Surprising that you would report him OP - I would spend more time learning from that seller what works.

I think I would be a lil jealous and pissed about him (maybe) not following the rules. Regardless of if he has 1 feedback or 100000 feedback, he should be held to the same rules as everyone. However, I do not know that I would have called eBay about it. That seems lil ruthless.
