Default Will this count as a defect for me?

I have NO idea how this happened......but apparantly I uploaded tracking for an item and it has now been ten days and the buyer opened an ebay "request" ...aka case opened.

I am going to overnight the item to the buyer tomorrow....I have no idea how I slipped up on this item.....anyways just wanted to know how much this will effect my selling abilities.

Thanks guys

Geeze, Louise.

You are having a rough run with your selling.

Have you over-extended yourself at all?

My impression was you were experienced but got shafted in the general nastiness that ebay/paypal apply.

Am I wrong? Seems you lack basic skills...

If this account is new, then it is getting flagged in a system that might kill it.

Sighs.

Greenbean,

I am having an INCREDIBLY rough day...its almost unreal.
I also think I know the reason....my printer has been malfunctioning lately and it seems it has not been printing all the labels it was supposed to...(out goes the printer).

Anyway, I did look some info up and luckily it seems that if I am able to resolve the issue with the buyer this would not effect my defect rate...thank god for the February changes otherwise I would be mighty screwed right now.

Fine... i get rough days. We can exchange stories.

Get onto this, be aplogetic and do as you said.

Make sure, this is a turning point. I am confident you can turn this around.

Here is what I do:

I have a print out of completed sales that need attention.

It had a column for Label PRINTED.

I print out labels. I then balance the number before going to the next step. Item despatch.

I have to do this or I have chaos.
Maybe that might help.

And enjoy a new printer!

Greenbean, do you happen to know if this issue will impact my defect rating?
From what I have gathered as long as u can resolve the issue with the buyer it won't count against me?
I have read other sellers state that any cases opened for items not receive that are greater than 9% of transactions will get effected?

Having a hard time finding a clear cut answer

Cases resolved are not defects.

Greenbean asked if you are somewhat new to this and it seems you did not reply.

It seems like you are brand new to selling on ebay and just starting to learn how to use it.

Yankee, I'm not new to it..just having a very bad spell..extremely bad actually.

I asked if it will count as a defect because the new standards that went into effect in February seem a bit contradictory for me?
It states on time shipping and cases closed without seller res. are the only things that can now effect defect rate..but then it also states that items not received cases which are successfully resolved with the buyer do not count against you..isn't this contradictory?

It is two different things.

1.) On time shipping You get dinged.

2.) Case not resolved You resolved it.

Thanks, I also did a bit more searching and it states for top rated sellers you cannot have more than 4% late shipment out of all transactions....this is the first one for me on this account and its out of 102 transactions so it would not even be 1%..so it seems I am in the clear if my understanding is correct

Are you TRS yet though?

Is this issue on the same account as the refund matter?

Where I am coming from, there are things happening that are going to make your account flagged.

Greenbean, this is not a stealth account, it's one that's been legitimately I'd verified already and has been aged for years properly.

Why do you miss replying to questions?

Is this the same account with refund issues?

What exactly do you mean by flagged?

You have had issues with the account.

It gets marked by ebay , ie, flagged.

You have to make sure everything stays in order.

Got it, so after some steady sales without issue I assume the flag gets removed?
