Default What would you do with this buyer?

I sold a phone and described it as very good condition on front and back housing but item will display some dings around the edges.

Now I know for a FACT my description of this item was accurate..the screen was in great condition and back housing was brand new!

Buyer messages me: "Hi phone has so many scratches I want 25% refund ."

It depend on what 25% is equal to

This buyer is clearly trying it on, but if 25% is less than $20 or so I would give it to them to keep them happy

If it was much more than that I would ask them to send the phone back for a full refund and offer to pay postage charges for them

Sounds like a very dodgy buyer Retailer77. Of course phones are one of the worst things to sell for that very reason, the amount of scam merchants that can be attracted to buying them. If the phone was as bad as buyer is saying they would be returning it for a full refund not just 'saying' it has so many scratches wants a 25% fund. What proof have they got off how bad the condition is, maybe you should be asking them that.

I though of that also....but to be honest it would mean nothing..the buyer could just send ⊗⊗⊗⊗ images of the phone scratched or if they are really spiteful just scratch the phone themselves.

I really hate buyers like this....you can tell the guy doesnt even speak propert english.."hi phone has so many scratching send 25% refund."....moron.

Hard call really

Personally I would offer to either let him return the phone for a full refund or offer a $20 refund

If their English is really poor though chances are they will either accept that or get very annoyed and start to threaten you with bad feedback. Seems to go one way or the other with buyers like this!

I was thinking something along the same lines...I will just state that I believe my phone was advertised correctly and if they would like they can return for a full refund or I can provide a partial refund of $20.
But would'nt offering partial $20 kind of be admitting that I was at fault and believe the phone was not advertised correctly?

I guess it really does not matter either way, even if I guy the guy $40 partial he could still leave a neg so it really doesnt matter
