Default How not to get your eBay listing removed

What are some of the ways you can avoid getting your listing removed. Example, I had two of the same listings and the only difference was the version so one got removed while the other one stayed until the listing ended.. I'm assuming it was a competitor that flagged me or possibly ebay did a scan and took it down. Is there anyway around this? I mean the other listing stayed for the full 7 days and ebay said it was fine to have it up which was weird because they removed my other one, so i believe it was a robot. Thanks

I have not had a listing removed in many years.

My guess it is your items are risky or not allowed on ebay.

It would usually be a 'bot' taking it down.

Sometimes it lets the listing run, sometimes it takes it down.

Competitor reports can influence it being taken down.

If you have multiple variations of item, you should list under one listing.
If your trying to increase exposure, that is against ebay TOS.\

These breaches will add up and could have your whole account suspended.

Generally its down to 1 of 4 things

The title containing a branded name it should not
The pictures being stock photos that is trademarked
The item clearly being counterfeit
The item in question not allowed to be sold on eBay

Dont do the above 3 things and you are very unlikely to have many issues

Am I the only person who interpreted the OPs question as being related to ebay's duplicate listing policy?

Everyone seems to be advising OP to avoid high risk items, yet OPs question is 'I had two of the same listings and the only difference was the version so one got removed while the other one stayed'

... Clearly this is due to it being a duplicate listing?

OP even contacted ebay who said 'it was fine to (leave) have it up'

... clearly that implies the OP wasn't selling anything questionable.

IF he was referring to duplicate listing policy(not what I was interpreting) then all you have to do is change the price. Idealy title and price a bit along with description and to be bullet proof picture as well.

Title does need to be changed - I have accidentally listed 2 of the same items on a few occasions and 1 gets taken down due to the duplicate policy. Changed title and shipping and the second stayed up as an experiment.

Yea I think Play is right. Sounds like a duplicate item not a risky item. eBay hates this. Try not to let it happen again or they will start watching your account and if it keeps happening they will stop you from selling.

Also they usually give you a reason once they take down your listing. What was the reason?
