Default eBay DSR Tips to Remove Holds

Ok so by now we have had people that know how to maintain the best possible DSR ratings possible. Can everyone post tips and tricks to help guarantee high numbers? Examples of this would be

Offer free shipping, I heard that is immediate 5's
Make sure you print shipping no later than the next day after the auction ends? I heard that will automatically give you a 5 in handling time?

You are accurate on those but to get the communication, you have to email them about everything. I put a note the following note in all my packages:

Thank you so much for your business. I hope I shipped this item to you in a manner that is consistent with your needs.
Please take the time to leave me positive feedback along with 5 star seller ratings in all categories. Any less than perfect and eBay will frown upon it which will directly affect my seller status. eBay's new rules are very strict with sellers these days. If I have performed any less than perfect, please contact me before leaving feedback. Thanks

That has worked for me PERFECTLY.

The as described, its simple, Just dont eliminate ANY defects, etc.

These are all things listed on the ebay site for helping DSR ratings.

I found the Best way to get Great DSR results is to include "Free Gifts" in all my shipments.

Depending on the item sold, I will put between 1-3 free gifts in each package.

Since 99% of my inventory is derived from Garage/Yard/Estate Sales, I am always on the look-out for new sealed Free Gift items.

In each package I put this tag on one of the 'Free Gifts"....

"THANK YOU!"
Free Gifts!
We hope you are Happy with your Purchase.
5 Gold Stars.

I have done this in the past as well. chuck $2 worth of meaningless stuff in a bag with "freebie" written on it and you get replies from many people telling you how awesome it was and that they will for sure post 5 dsrs for you.

That kind of cheap stuff is easy to come by in bulk as well.

That's a really good idea. To be honest before I just didn't care that much. I tried to list things to the best of my ability, but if I sold an iPod and said, it has some scuffs on the back and scratches on the screen, and took detailed pictures, 5 out of 10 times they contact me saying it just wasn't what they wanted. I mean if they wanted to buy new items theyd go to walmart or best buy. But now with the way eBay works you Are forced to care sooooo much about this kinda stuff. It's really aggravating but I guess something we will all have to do

Yes, automatic for Free Shipping.

Handling Time: You have to jumb through a few eBay hoops to secure a automatic 5 stars...(taken from eBay site)

You will automatically receive a 5-star shipping time detailed seller rating if:
*You specify 1-day handling.
*You upload U.S. Postal Service, UPS, or FedEx supported tracking information by the end of the next business day* Pacific Time after the buyer's payment clears.
*Delivery Confirmation or tracking shows confirmed delivery 4 business days from when the payment clears—or—within your estimated delivery time if it's less than 4 days (for example, overnight shipping).

That sucks, offering priority mail free shipping seems ridiculous. I hate that eBay has ****ed around with this. Shipping costs were made to cover not just what you pay for shipping. Bubble wrap, and hell even the gas it takes to go drop the stuff off. I just couldnt handle free shipping on lots of my items. I may do it for awhile though to build up higher dsrs and feedback though. Also if they get free shipping they may be more inclined to give 5 stars.
