Default Complex situation -- please help!!

Hi,

So I let my friend use my account for his memorabilia business. He used it for a few months and then stopped. After about 9 months I check my ebay account and find that it owes £1077 pounds in sellers fees. I'm quite sure my friend wouldn't have known this, but I told him about a month ago while he was travelling. He's just arrived back in the UK and, though being adamant I won't be left with it, he's still really flaky and I still don't have an idea of when he's paying it.

My question is: Moving forward, if I was getting nowhere with my friend, is there any action I can take to have it transferred to him or anything like that?

Thanks for your time.

Adam

The situation isn't really complex at all.

As far as ebay are concerned, the debt is yours and they will come after you for it.

Welcome to the forums stevensonadam3 - it is like Ebayorbust stated - account is in your name and you are liable. Get on top of this "friend" of yours.

Thanks, I'm trying but he's being really difficult. He has an ebay business and uses other people's accounts, do you think I'd be able to tell eBay this and he would be banned from selling? It's not that I want to, just if it came to it, I could imply that would be my next course of action.

Thanks

Welcome to the forum stevensonadam3.

Using other people account is not an eBay business of any sort.

Sorry but this something you have to solve with your friend (get the money pay the fees) there is nothing eBay can do about it.

I would go and get some legal advice. Your friend it not your friend. Despite whatever history you might have with him, that's not something friends do to each other. And if he has an eb.ay business as you say, he knows about those seller fees.

Would honestly get some advice before hounding him for it. If he has no intention of paying you back then he'll either be disappearing altogether or looking to use you further.
