This probably isn't the best question for the health of this forum. Check around the forum, this has been touched on in a few places.

discovered new trick (includes no pp fees til 4/08)

ok, so this may work for lower volume sales...

get new pp account, but just for buyers. Link it to your ebay account to pay fees. Ebay likes pp linked, make them happy.

disable checkout button.

list, say accept pp, but don't check it, check credit card. state in listing you take pp.

Go to mal's ecommerce, get free shopping cart, set up cart to take pp at your BUSINESS pp, set for express checkout.

Relogin, you will see add for free pp fees, sign up.

When listing ends, send email with checkout button. Have them checkout with your cart. Nice feature includes end of checkout return to your website!!

If you don't take pp but do merchant account, you can use that too w/ mal's ecommerce!

:D

This won't work now because of ebay's new pet, the non-performance rule. If you list and say you will accept paypal in the listing but do not allow buyers to pay with paypal, you run the risk of being reported by ebay or your competition for non-performance. And if one of your "buyers" negs you for this and your percentage drops below a certain level, you can have your account limited. Another fun time brought to you by ebay. ;)

Now if you can do this for GCO too, that should work if they do definately start charging after the 1st of next year. Just don't tell too many people about it and get the word out. You know how easily they could get wind of it then and decide to do something about it.

A lot of programs 3rd party checkouts don't have api, but ebay allows you to checkout with their email checkout button (ex. vendio). I put one up, we will see!

Does anyone know if your account is put on hold for non payment of fees can you make a small payment to keep your account going? Or do you have to pay them in full?.
My account is put on hold and I don't want to pay them in full but I don't want to waste my money making a small payment if the account wont be released.
Thanks

anotherebayhater 09-07-2007 05:18 PM

lulu i think you have to pay atleast half if not all. :(

JackNoMore 09-07-2007 05:32 PM

You have to pay what's marked as "overdue" in your balance. It will be in your invoice.

Awh man, I was hoping $50.00 would keep it going for awhile. They are asking for $197.00. That's too bad it was a good account. Well I'm glad I didn't waste my gift cards on it!
Thanks everyone!

JackNoMore 09-07-2007 10:47 PM

Lulu, is that the full amount or the past due amount? You'll receive notices saying X amount is due, but you are looking for the "overdue" you'll find in your invoice at the top. 30 days overdue is about right for blocking. 60 for suspension.

On each of my several accounts I had to pay the full amount invoiced as of last month to get my account off of hold. And I was only one month behind. In my pre-suspension days, I would easily go 3 to 4 months without paying.

I stopped paying a yacht damn thing on any of my accounts, because it seems that eventually they all get suspended (linked), and when it happens I just start using one of my many backups. It's a perpetual cycle, but a profitable one. For me. Not EBAY.

Another thing - if you do get suspended for non-payment of fees, that is a different dept. from the dreaded T. & S. that slams you for "abusing EBAY." So, if you make a token payment, you will be reinstated.

I hear ya on that one.....again under my rapunzel_01 account I owed 667 bucks, but they suspsned me luckly I didnt pay. damn BOT.

anotherebayhater 09-08-2007 09:47 AM

what r u on now rapunzel_39987? lol :)

frustrated 09-08-2007 12:10 PM

Even when I linked they still didn't get **** out of me. F them! I've had 7 maybe 8 accounts now, I was bitter over the first suspension that I didn't want to pay the *******s a dime, I've only paid on my first account, but in end owed them $5 and they suspended, I had 3 negatives and it looked bad so I didn't pay the $5. big whoop! *******s. What comes around, goes around. I don't make a living off of eBay (and I'm sorry for those of you who do), but they make living off of me (US) they can pack themselves for all I care. I can live without them.

Doing a chargeback to get out of paying EBAY fees

I got em those *******s. They owed me final value fees for 50 bucks on my last account and they still billed me so I charged em back the *******s YAY!!!

Go Steelers!!!

whome 09-17-2007 12:00 AM

I successfully charged back over $2500 to them when they suspended my account earlier this year. Would've done more if I had kept better records of my payments to them...as I do now.

ebay-sucks 09-19-2007 08:25 AM

A win for the good guys !!
Congrats on giving them what they deserve.

** Ebay, a gift that keeps on giving **

rapunzel_01 09-19-2007 01:20 PM

yeah thats the way to do it, but I still would not use my personal credit card just use a gift card now.....I once told my CC company I lost my card before ebay can charge me a final charge LOL...

x2ruff4u 09-20-2007 02:36 AM

Makes me wonder if you can do a chargeback on a gift card lol. Is that possible?
