eBay Answers Questions about Policy and Feedback Changes

eBay held a Town Hall audio event on Wednesday to discuss the changes eBay announced on July 27, 2009. eBay's Vice President of Seller Experience Dinesh Lathi was joined by other eBay managers, and they answered email and phone calls from sellers.

Many of the questions focused on eBay changes to feedback, specifically Detailed Seller Ratings. Sellers were concerned that the some changes would actually irritate buyers and negatively impact sellers' DSRs, particularly the reminders that eBay plans to send buyers if they haven't paid within a certain amount of time after making a purchase.

Other questions involved eBay's changes to search, shipping and insurance, and eBay's new Selling Practices policy. One seller pointed out that eBay had only one handling charge for both domestic and international shipments, and another was unhappy that eBay would not be paying sellers if they used their photos for catalog pages.
