Default tips to win disputes/claim?

my story is simple...i keep receiving junk from sellers, one seller for example (outside of ebay) sold me jeans that were completely shredded, they looked like old rags, and were covered in red and black paint which couldn't be removed. i can't even give the damn things away! other sellers have sent me pieces of plastic when advertised solid silver jewelry, and i ALWAYS lose the dispute... the seller tells me to ship it back, i ship it and they claim they haven't received it, so i just lose the claim.

i'm so frustrated with this -- even on ebay, i have lost all 'buyer protection' claims for refunds. does anyone have any tips on how to get refunds, i.e. win the cases...because this is getting ridiculous...

Quickest advice is stop buying online if it is not a reputable company. 'Solid silver jewelry' from a buyer you do not know. Was it a low (read nasty) price? Did you see it as the bargain of bargains? See what I mean? You have to use discretion and not think that the seller out there is Mister NiceGuy. In the matter of sending anything back, pay the extra to have the item signed for and therefore be covered.

That's surprising you lose the dispute. All you have to do is to have delivery confirmation and that's all paypal requires to my knowledge.

Well you could always buy from another country so you can do a "not received" dispute.

It also sounds like you are not paying by credit card as they require for the seller to prove delivery to you that it must be your signature and not say a family member's and delivery confirmation doesn't count.

I take credit card via merchant account on eBay and there's always scammer buyers doing "friendly fraud" chargebacks, usually saying they didn't authorize it. PayPal will ban you if you do a chargeback for not authorized, but outside of PayPal, eBay won't even take action on the buyer's ebay account.

Yes. If the buyer refuses the package and you sent it with tracking; you get to keep the item and the money. That's happened with me a couple times where the buyer refused it. Call paypal and tell them and they'll fix it.

In order to win, you need a third party. One thing people don't realize is if you just return the item with tracking then tell paypal you returned it, regardless of seller policy you get a refund. their policy overrides seller policy. a trick some of my buyers and i also learned.

Very weird thread. How in the world can you keep losing Paypal disputes as a buyer? They bend over backwards to favor the buyers. Sen an item back, include tracking, and you will be pretty much guaranteed a refund.

I actually WON a paypal dispute as seller, buyer said signed for package was empty, yeah right it contained the phone he bought. Paypal sided with me, and even fought cc chargeback.

It does happen my friend, just not very often. I am still amazed at this thread. Unless you continually buy from scammers, a buyer is fairly safe. A little thing called feedback, should alert buyers.
