Default Is this safe?

So when I got suspended 5 years ago, I recently (little under a year) started using eBay as a dropship wholesaler and send the items to my customers who bought items in my own domain shop. Now my account got reinstated last week.

Is buying on eBay and sending it to customers allowed on eBay?

Or should I make a stealth account for buying part.. as it took me 5 years of waiting to get my original account back which has thousands of feedback .. now all positive and clean dsr.

Just wondering if eBay will see my every move as I'm back on as a seller.

In short: Can you buy on eBay to dropship?

Yes, eBay doesn't care where you ship the items you buy. The only issue you may have is SNAD cases or Items Not Received. Those are your potential problems, not drop-shipping.

Care to detail what method you used to get your old account back?

Default Re: Is this safe?

ok let me rephrase i think i got you confused.

I have two online shops (that are my own domain) not ebay. I have various suppliers but when the supplier is out of stock I will go to ebay and purchase items from there (sometimes even lower then the supplier itself) and have the ebay seller ship it to my customer. So there will never be a SNAD case or item not received because the ebay seller is only working with me. And the customer who bought it from my online shop (not ebay) will deal with me and not have ebay as mediator.. However they will get paypal or their cc involved but paypal is not ebay anymore correct?

PS: You should use your books license and sign up for the VIP status in here. It's free for 6 months.

I never use my selling account to buy. So I have a dedicated buying account.
Problem is I don't feel comfortable buying and having it shipped to different addresses each time because I'm very careful. But that's just me.

Good news is, buyer accounts generally don't get limited often at all.

eBay loves buyers. Without buyers, eBay doesn't make money. Even when your seller account gets suspended, eBay still allows you to buy, that only tells you that eBay loves buyers.

Personally the only reason in my view to have separate EBAY buyer/seller accounts is so that if you have an issue with another seller, they don't take revenge against you by buying your products and trying to tank your feedback or DSR's.

AMAZON is a different story. DO NOT buy and sell on the same account.

I love buying on my seller account because I still get feedback. But the risk that you'll have a dispute and they will take revenge, while low, is still there.

Ok, so my amazon account is safe because i don't use it too sell but i use it too dropship items from customers purchasing from my online shop. So Ghostamazon (fitting name), should i make stealth account for buying then?

I like to start selling on amazon too since i have fresh account. And like to sell on ebay since my account is back.

But agree, ebay loves the buyers and wants mores sales. Seems only buyer responsibility is there payment went through safely.

So Ghostamazon, is amazon good platform to sell or ebay still dominating..

I think last time I was setting up shop at amazon, seems the rates were higher and little more complicated..

Oh Amazon is a BEAST marketplace....if you can GET ON and STAY ON. Nowadays, they're really rough....documents, ID, required to start, closing accounts and stealing funds....all kinds of shenanigans, but the traffic is AMAZING.

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't dropshipping always count as a risk of customer claiming item not received and your screwed out of money?

Any kind of shipping can count as a risk if no tracking is provided...

I was referring to the fact that with the Wholesaler, you know them, you have business relationship, you trust them to be reliable.

When buying from Joe Blow on eBay who knows how good they are about keeping inventory in stock, shipping in a timely manner, etc etc.

Tracking number usually shuts most people up. USPS has been great in delivery and I would say their delivery rate is 99% .. ANd sometimes the buyer or seller provides wrong address but isn't too bad.

WHat type of items are the best to be on amazon (kind of vague question). I know ebay you can sell literally any category

And any quick rundown (pros and cons) vs ebay and amazon? I have both accounts that are not stealth and active and looking to venture in it.

I see what your saying, so do u dropship? Is it worth it if u know what to buy and sell also does it matter if tracking number is from the store? Thinking about doing it on the side seems like it wouldn't take much time out of the day.

Ya I mean I always use tracking even insurance if it has value. So let's say u drop ship with tracking and buyer claims item not received as a scam would u be good if u provide tacking even if it's from the store u used.

eBay pros:

More customization. Lax rules. You'll always get your money after 90 days.

Cons: More work, less money.

Amazon pros: Higher prices. Less hassle to list. More traffic.

Cons: They shut down your account with no warning. They'll steal your money.

Well ebay is pretty strict so usually the sellers on there with good feedback and pretty reliable and very responsive. So that is one good thing about all the strict rules they have if you are using them as a wholesaler. Occasionally I ran into items out of stock. But I can say that in the online world of retail it will happen..

You mentioned few times they steal your money.. So i'm guessing they stole your money lol (not laughing at you, with you! cause had that happened to me as well). When you mean steal your money do you mean they side with buyers most of the time cause i sold and shipped item to buyer and they put a claim and responded with tracking etc and still sided with them..

1. Unless there is another money that was taken from you different way?

I always thought ebay brought in more traffic. Seems that my amazon account was opened all these years and haven't dabbed into it much.

2. When your account gets shut down, its usually do to user error right? like counterfeit items, slow performance, etc....

No. I mean they shutdown accounts, "delete" them (wrong username/password message) and then NEVER transfer THOUSANDS of dollars to the seller. Not after 90 days, not ever.

2. No.

Used to be that way. Now if they catch a whiff of stealth, the account is toast.

And how much is being donated back to Amazon.. seems like it's fair if your items never got delivered but if did and they keep it .. isn't there anything you can do about it. ?
