How long of a lag time do you have when they put your ebay registration on hold for past due fees, before you get suspended from selling? one day, days, weeks, weeks, thanks for the input.
The complete step-by-step guide to get back to selling today!
i have found if the first time they try to take a payment (i pay via bank transfer) fails, they then try again the next month, if that one fails account gets suspended. so theoretically can sell for 2 months without paying
Yes that is my experience - you can usually go about a month past due before you will be restricted from further selling (so about 2 months from initial invoice date, give or take).
The last I knew of this when they try to take a payment you get an email to say your payment method was declined. They then try to take fees approx every week.
The first time you miss you fee payment you can still sell, I think its now the second time that they try to take fees that your selling is restricted. Now when you click on sell you get directed back to the ebay log in page where there is a message in red saying something to the effect of "update your payment method for ebay fees"
After this you get messages every month eith you amount you owe, and the messages increase in intensity (you will be suspended etc) but it takes ages until you are actually fully suspended approx 2 -3 months.
Then invoice reminders every month.
Month 6 it goes to Interim Justicia, collection agents (or similar)
Month 12 you get another ebay invoice that says amount owing £0.00.
Then to a second collection company who email you asking you to contact them to quote a reference.
Tip: If they have not got you by this point then they wont.
And if your account is stealth it wont show up on a credit report.
Thanks to all for the info, I am just selling what I have and moving onto another acct. Luckily, I posted all my auctions on Monday and the restriction hit tuesday, lol.
