ebay is NOT dumb |
ineedone | 05-14-2008 07:02 AM | Hey guys, Im a little new here, just browse most of the time and learn quite a bit from all of you. As of late I have to do the phone verification (about 4 times in the past 2 weeks) I havent really noticed any pattern.
Since I use "⊗⊗⊗⊗" numbers I have to change the number to a real number, have them call, get the pin, verify, then I change my account info back to the original number. Anyone else been getting hit with these?
Currently I use paypal since I have a paypal account that is not limited or suspended. Anyone else here still using paypal and not getting hit with phone verify?
is anyone that uses google checkout or something similar getting hit with these verificatins? im thinking its because of paypal.
*each new account has a completely new unverified paypal account (names numbers and such match that of new ebay accounts, yes i still pay ebay fees, im nice like that) |
imjustme | 05-14-2008 07:36 AM | I link each one of my eBay accounts with a fully verified PayPal account before I start listing. So that may be why I'm not getting the phone calls. |
2eXclusiive | 05-14-2008 02:21 PM | you can use a online service, they give you a phone number and you use that phone number and when lets say ebay calls the call gets fowarded to your real number. |
lynnchacha | 05-16-2008 10:43 AM | HI, i have multi accounts on EB, all of them are over 1 year old. 5 accounts, 4 powerseller!
I got phone call on 3 of my accounts recently and asked for verification!
It had never happened before!
It will cost a lot of money for them to call one seller by the other. No wonder, they have to increase their fees!
I guess the only reason for them to do so, is to suspend more sellers.
If they keep kicking out sellers, who will pay their fee?
I hope this thing won't last too long, since they probably will not have enough money to pay the person to call any longer!
Shame on EB |
2eXclusiive | 05-16-2008 02:13 PM | lynn... - wow good job, priceless accounts |

Shame on EB | They don't need sellers just buyers. |
screwedagain | 05-17-2008 02:04 AM | don;t understand None of my old ebay accounts are getting calls. I just opened a new ebay yesterday and no calls also after i listed 2 items. There is someone on another forum saying he is getting calls everytime he lists. How is that possible? Wouldn't it be wise for ebay to just verify after the first listing. Well just getting prepared incase i get that phone call. It better not be when i am sleeping though. |
screwedagain | 05-17-2008 02:08 AM | Can anyone who experienced this answer this question. How does this ebay phone call work? For paypal, you have the choice if you want the phone call now or in a minute. If you miss the first phone call, do you have the option of choosing when you want to get called? |

If you miss the first phone call, do you have the option of choosing when you want to get called? | Sorry, my dear! I got phone calls on 2 of my powerseller accounts, they wanted to talk in person! I didn't pick the phone. So, they emailed me and told me that I missed their call. I had to go through the verification process to confirm my phone number. The good thing is: this is all by machine. NO though questions to answer. You can choose call now or call in 1 min.
The 3rd account of mine, they just directly put limitation on it.
I could not list or bid, before this phone verification process.
I don't know why they are doing this, esp. for powerseller accounts that have been selling for years (one of mine was 7 years already).
BTW, I don't sell high price items or keyword items, such as designer goods or computers.
Just be careful! I don't think they want sellers any more....
At least, no matter what, if your feedback is less than 10k, you are small for them. They don't want you.....
They charged high fees from us, just to pay people to suspend us.
It doesn't make sense to me. We paid the gang to rob us???
Who is stupid? Sellers or EB??? | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 01:17 AM. | |
