Stealth 1: Called, the rep was super nice, asked me some questions, passed it, automatically reinstated and increased my selling limit to 100/5000 without me asking
Stealth 2: Called, rep was polite, asked questions, passed, reinstated. then increased my selling to 50/3500 without me asking
| @turkeyhunt, if you dont mind me asking, are you female? I think that may be why you got the gift increases. :noidea: |
| vogeltron | 01-20-2013 05:33 AM | Lets all be honest. Today you have to start slow to get a stealth account going. It takes 3-4 months to get your limits raised and stay under the radar. That includes getting good feedback, etc. Keeping everything in good standing. Those who get limited are impatient. Patience is a virtue. You have to treat each new account like a newborn child and baby it along. |

when you say you never do paperwork -- then how do you get past the PP restrictions? like when they ask for drivers ID, utility bill etc.
also lets say your stealth address is in NY then do you make sure to call from an area code thats based in NY? This is why I dislike calling and prefer emails. | I normally don't do that. I have done so in the past, but found that it was pretty pointless. I normally dont get hit with paypal restrictions unless I get too greedy...
If I get one limited, I normally just call back to pp after 45 days for an early release of the money in there as long as its not over $750
And I make all my stealths live in my general area, so I can call them -- I also keep my numbers active for that purpose :) |

I don't agree. I would say that out of the ones that I call on - I act like a newbie and ask about the selling limits .Since I passed their identity questions, I can raise them instantly on the phone and my accounts have no problems (like 75%, the other 25% stay the same)
Generally speaking, all you have to do is find the method that works for you. Some find it working to take it slow, others take it right off the back and do just fine.
I would agree about getting greedy-- and even though I raise my limits I still make sure to not do too much thru paypal too fast.
I tend to not have much patience :\ ... so it backfires sometime, but most of the time it works. |

THough when a friend of mine calls on his, he tends to get good luck with the female ebay reps lol So he just hangs up and calls back if its a male |

stealth 3: called, rep was just monotone , asked questions, passed, reinstated. DID Not lift limits ( i acted new and asked what the process was to increase) said I needed 3 months of selling, 25 positive fb, and good selling history.....
.....so if thats the case, then the other two shouldnt have lifted my limits right.. ? like i said, its up to the rep what they do. They have the control on you account.
Stealth 4: called and failed questions. asked to fax doc. so i hung up and called it a loss. I dont do paperwork..
Stealth 5 : didn't receive mc999. had selling limit 10/1000
Keep in mind I was testing a theory of mine on ebay so I made all 5 stealths and turned into seller same day. Then listed the next day...just to see what would happen. And those were my personal results.
Interesting how much power ebay has.... and their rules aren't set in stone neither. | Thank you, your message is really helpfull.
I got a MC999 yesterday, I called today and after 4 call I found the right person and my ebay account is not limited anymore.
I was calling from Guatemala so the reception was really bad, I'm french so when I speak english I've a strong french accent, I was suppose to be 57 years old and I'm 23^^
First call: Can't hear nothing, after few question (that I was not able to hear) the person told me that I failed the test and that I need to try again, I gave up.
Second call: Can't hear nothing again, I gave up after 3 minutes.
Third call: Finally, I can hear the person I'm talking with. She asked me about my security social number, I gave up.
Fourth call: Very nice person, a women who asked me before my name how I was doing (I think that told a lot, if the person is not friendly she will never ask you a stuff like that). After few question about my selling she unrestriced my account. I said that it was a error of me to sell new product and that I was selling used product actually, she take me a little for a idiot and explain to me how to edit my add... This is really a good move to said that it was a error of you to list new product.
For this 4 calls, 14$US ^^ But I won!
I think that it's not possible to don't have your account back with a MC999; you just need to try again and again to found the right person.
Thank you again, this tread help me a lot! |

Thank you again, this tread help me a lot! | good to know, next time if hit with MC999 ill keep in mind. didn't know you can keep failing the phone conversation test, and that PP won't even flag you for that. |
| Artann | 01-29-2013 11:11 PM | I just got MC999. It said please to click that this link in the mail eB sent me. When clicking on it it takes you to big ass red message titled Attention! then it has a part where it says make sure you respond to our email within 72 hours.
The thing is i didn't get any other email. So I called them and the guy on the phone told me that the message was suppose to say call eB. I tell him what is wrong with my account. He does through the usual what are you sellin (nothing branded), where do you getting, are you a new seller, do you have any other accounts. I calmly answer all the questions and he tells me that the account is good.
Normal stuff. The interesting part s next. After unlocking my account he asks me if I'm planning on selling anything in future.
me: what do you mean?
eB: Well i personally sell ipads on eB
me: I'm not planning on selling ipads
eB: Oh I was just gonna give you some tips in case you want to sale in future.
me: (thinking to myself WTF, but then I get intrigued) I was thinking of selling my old laptop when I geta new one.
eB: great, it shows me that your selling limit is only 1k and you probably want to increase it.
me: sure I'd love to!
eB: do you have an ID?
me: sure I do.
eB: please fax me a copy and I will increase those limits for you
After that I politely decline and end the call.
Now 2 things:
1. Are they really aloud to sell on eB???
2. it really looks like eB trains it's reps to fish for ID! |
| john456 | 01-30-2013 02:44 AM | Wow insane Artann, asking if you want to sell iPads?
It seems just a fishing technique however.
When I got a high limit/great DSR/great selling account for 'business risk', reps told me I should go check Amazon to sell!
We could write comic standup routines with all that info.
thx

J. | I just re-posted under a new tread to see what stories people might share for the laughs :) and tips on how to get it removed.
